Basically, buy orders were going thru and sell orders were not. When 1inchexchange delisted STA due to high volume it messed the balancer up. If you go to etherscan and look at transactions during the "pump" you'll see that almost all sell orders failed. That's why the devs kept on telling people to stop trading, bc the price was a glitch
