If you live in the US, just keep your dollars. If you're not in the US, find a way to get USD or USD denominated assets. There is likely going to be a short squeeze on the US dollar because so many countries own loads of dollar denominated debt and there are simply not enough dollars to go around.
>but muh brrrr
There is no other currency that has anywhere near as much global demand as USD and few people think we will have deflation because of the Fed's printer. Every brainlet sees what the Fed is doing and is prepping for hyperinflation. Hyperinflation will come, but after a short squeeze on the dollar. Only the US fed can print dollars. Other countries who need dollars to pay their debts to Uncle Sam don't have that luxury.
>but they will just default on them
If they do, those loans are gone and money is destroyed. That lowers dollar supply, which increases it's value versus other currencies.

If you're high IQ and still interested check this out https://youtu.be/TMSpbmg59UU

Credit to Brent Johnson and his dollar milkshake theory.

Yeah inb4 dollar milkshake theory. This bullshit is repeated by retards who still don't get that biggest holder of US debt is China. Any dollar deflation would just nuke US. Btw your genius Brent Johnson runs some weird investment fund sitting mainly on shorts and USD. He shares his wisdom to sell it.

That last argument is the same bullshit people throw at Peter Schiff. They didn't inherit some fund and got tasked to market it, they run those funds because they believe in it.

Your absolutely fucking retarded faggot
it’s the US thats in debt =total debts and unfunded liabilities $180 TRILLION
That’s why the FED is monetizing it to try stop financial and economic collapse
That brings the inflation of consumer staples and essentials
It’s already happening

Biggest FOREIGN holder of US debt is China, at like 2.2 trillion. Domestic held debt totals something around 15 trillion, you retard.

This. Dollar milkshake safe haven demand has persisted throughout corona, but it’s going to go down once other countries’ economies stabilize. Once we hit that point the increase in money supply will be felt and the dollar will lose a shitload of purchasing power. PMs are unironically a good buy right now

Which means that manufacturing floods back into the US. The ONLY thing keeping the US de-industrialized is a strong dollar. Everything else is and has almost always been perfect conditions for a world-beating manufacturing base.

Aha, and what's the point? If course domestic total debt of all countries is higher. But the 2,2 of us of course are reason enough that something like strong usd deflation will never happen as it would be the end of USA. Also in this case, the last thing i'd like to be invested in is US assets

No one mentioned china causing inflation/deflation. It's just that the US with huge foreign debts and most of them in giant is fucked beyond anything if really a dollar shortage/deflation would happen. Johnson's implications investment to buy us assets and him mentioning china to have any problem in a deflationary case is just wrong. So even if his scenario proved right, his implications how to invest would be completely wrong.

I don't really believe in johnson's thesis, but i own Newmont mining. Would be his perfect asset when i understand him correctly (US + gold). Reason why i own it is because gold stocks give you leveraged exposure to gold. The case when stocks are nothing worth anymore, than also gold won't help. You need a glock and some month's food.
