bring a gun and the limit of what you’ll pay. tell them the car is either 10k or 30 cents.

Don’t buy a new car unless you’re a fucking idiot.

Dont buy one yet if you can. Hold out for a few more months. The best deal is someone selling a car to fees themselves

get a piece of shit second hand one and don't go through a dealership. cars only have one job and that job can be done for under $1000 if you know where to look.

NEVER LET THE SALESMAN OR THE FINANCE OFFICER KNOW YOURE PAYING CASH UNTIL THE PRICING PAPERWORK IS IN YOUR HANDS. THEIR CASHFLOW MODEL COMES FROM LOAN FINANCING, NOT SALES.

Don’t shop in person. Make offers over the phone and never in person.

Surf craigslist and get some used car buying tipsheets off /o/ so you know what to look for. You can do the deed for a couple grand like >>19289840 said.

>> No.19290764

You can't really negotiate much with price of a new car. The best you can do is get a couple grand knocked off or negotiate some of the fees attached. If you aren't willing to walk out of the dealership, don't bother trying to act like you can talk them down. Also, stick with your word. If you say you won't pay for something, either find out if there is something else you can haggle.

Now is a good time, COVID has put the auto industry in a limbo state. Though you should look for SLIGHTLY used cars with certified pre-owned warranties. Get all the assurance of a new car without new car pricing.
