Do you guys think the next move for the global elites is to try to hurt Trumps presidency is to skyrocket oil prices? Feels like the country is ready to go car travel this weekend, sure would be wild if ((something)) were to explode some oil rigs wouldn't it?

Oil going to 105 a barrel by July? I think they will find a way to pin 4.5 dollar a gallon gas on something Trump did.

It's a speculative trade based on three things: 1. IMO 2020 regulations resulting in a smaller fleet as companies will opt to scrap older ships rather than pay for scrubbers. The decrease in the number of ships available should increase the price that tanker companies can charge. 2. Low number of orders on the books for new tankers means not many new ships are being built at the moment. 3. The industry has been beaten down over the past 10 years so many companies are trading at 50% of NAV. The recent contango in the oil market has meant massive positive cash flow for these companies. DYOR it's a risky play and I haven't jumped in yet but have been following tankers since Q3 2019 when I first learned about the IMO 2020 regulation. People think these catalysts could bring about a bull run in the tanker industry for the next couple years.

I don't know how the DIX works but the site claims that declining DIX indicates a mix of bearish/uncertain sentiment.

The GEX however has been a more reliable indicator for me on the S&P500. In the case of it going down when the S&P rallied, it helped predict last week's dump. And with today's 3+% gain but with such a weak inflection, PLUS a downward DIX, it might indicate we aren't out of the woods yet.

But idk.

Why would stock prices go LOWER than 2019 levels when there was massive demand when they are making MORE money with no demand? Why would they be "hurting" in 3-4 months when they return to normal, which means they are operating at the same capacity as 2019 when their stock price was higher? You're trying to rationalize your own conclusion. Every metric points to tankers going UP. The real reason they are down is profit taking from the initial hype. A lot of people have been holding on to these tankers for YEARS and they have been going down, its the perfect time to sell off and move on for them, and a perfect opportunity for new money to find upside.

For the price to move from p1 to p2 how many shares need to be bought/sold? Hard to say before but easy to say after. (p2-p1)/cumulated volume.
Basically a metric which tells you how many shares you have to buy/sell in order to move the price by 1 point. High values should imply lots of resistance while low values should imply ease of movement. It doesn't quite work this way but shouldn't it?
