It takes a whole lot of coffee to be able to do your job and listen to philosophy at the same time but when you're I'm in the zone I feel like my wagecucking isn't going down the drain. Every night do the textbooks which you can also find online, like Balanced Asset Allocation, etc. because you have to look at figures and do maths to test what you learn, you can't just listen to these. I'm currently doing that with Prings "Technical Analysis Explained", I made a thread backtesting his methods a few days ago maybe you seen it. Academia has a bunch of free books it shouldn't have.

I learned this work ethic from doing post-grad degree, I also learned that a lot of what they do at uni is "go read this book, ok that'll be 9000 dollars thanks". I'm confident I can get an economics and trading education by my own accord.

Alright, so I'm probably better off than many here, but I understand this feeling rn. I'm soon to be 21. Started studying psychology, but now realised that it's probably not the right thing for me. After school I worked shitty Jobs for 2 years, but didn't manage to save much. I have 1000 dollars in the bank, but absolutely no idea what i should do now and I don't want to put time into a degree I don't really want to pursue. I've not made it massively but made it well enough at this point to likely offer some advice. Hot girlfriend, 100k job, good body.

Most important thing - fake it till you make it. Learn on the job, fake confidence, but be able to back up your bullshit. For example, in an interview you can take credit for other's work in something you were involved with, because by watching them do it, you now know how to do it. Watch your boss make a project plan? You could do that! But don't say you can do something you know you can't like speak French or something.

Lift. Whether it's gymnastics, shot put, weights, whatever. Heavy resistance training to change your body shape for the better.

Diet. Don't be fat. Ever. If you are, lift and cut out the bad food. Do simple cardio like Incline walking, cycling, swimming etc. No need to do intense cardio if you don't enjoy it.

All the above will further build your confidence and eventually while you continue to fake it, girls will come around to the idea of you. You'll piss some off along the way. Don't worry. But make sure you don't get bitter. Just move on. There's no guy on tye planet that every girl likes. Everyone has differing tastes.

Upskill when you can. This is key for professional progression as well as showing continuing competency and commitment to improving.

I was 60kg at 18 and now I'm 85kg. I've lost nearly all of my hair too but confidence is the key for life. Confidence and charm together? Nothing can stop you.

It's hard, consistent work. It will be tough, without doubt. But you can do it. The journey makes the man.
