Some retard got scammed out of a big ingame currency amount in an MMO I play.

Curious about what kind of person would fall for such a bad scam, I talked to him a little and soon learned that he spent more than EUR 4,000 on the game since April.

I would need to work for six months to make that amount of money, but some whale next door is spending it on 3 minutes of satisfaction.

You all probably heard stories of whales spending tens of thousands of dollars on videogames, but is anyone here actually such a person? Do you know any?

my good friend and I used to play alot of clash of clans maybe 3 years ago. His father in law (ex millitary police, now hospital manager, nice house, good income ect) used to be a big wow guy, and started getting into the game. He must have spend 2 or 3k gemming his account in hopes of catching up with us (for example, i think i calculated at the time it would have taken 12-14k to max out from the start of the game to finish. But thats not why we play it, its for the grind). After maybe a year he wasn't playing anymore. I know him well but I still can't sympathize with how he justified dropping that money on clash.

Used to play NeoPets 15+ years ago. I would host a contest for my Guild where the winners would receive super expensive items. To enter, you had to buy a crappy item from the Guild Shop for NeoPoints, each purchase being +1 entry to win.

I would advertise on the forums and get millions of neopoints. I would say my alt account won and then sell the neopoints on ebay.

I spent about £1000 on a dead Mobile MOBA called Vainglory, before I knew anything about investing. Now, I don’t even have the game installed on my phone. Waste of money, but better to start someday than to not start at all
