So, lets talk SAVA! Huge blunder on my part, sorry about this folks. As it turns out the usual biomarkers have significant variability based on circadian rythm, lab methods and whatnot. Those interested see for example 10.1371/journal.pone.0100784, 10.1515/CCLM.2008.241. I thought measuring these is trivial, turns out it's not. I wonder how come the phase 2a results were so consistent. Coming up next are secondary endpoints, which means cognitive scores and blood biomarker levels. Neuroinflammation was definitely reduced at least, so - assuming the drug works- we might end up meeting the cognitive endpoints in a weird turn of events. But it's unlikely, again, due to the high variability. Cash is about 20-25 mil as i recall, that should be enough for quite a while without dilution. I suspect a phase 2b costs several millions at most. Maybe they will repeat the study, possibly with a better choice of endpoints, or higher number of patients. But that is for next year. The coming months should be good, blood test unveiling and data crunching. Now it's way oversold, (might even get to 1-1.5), as if the results would mean that pti-125 is out of the game. I don't think so, but we are two steps back. Apart from redo, investor trust should be salvaged somehow to get funds for an eventual phase 3, so there's a chance this is GALT all over again. Still, as good a value buy as it was last year, but the road ahead is now bumpy. Also, as a sidenote, I think it would be good for Parkinson's as well.

for dividends KO seems like a really good buy, better than T because Coca-Cola is more likely to stay around for another 100 years than AT&T.

Interesting indeed. I did far out buy calls. If my strat works this can pay off bigly. Sadly I'm pussying out by only going in with 6k. If I go all in I could make some serious gains unless of course
>i die making my gains only useful for family
>covid is actually more of a threat than what it seems to be
>recession/depression that lasts a long time
>company I bought calls on goes bankrupt

Just hoping I timed it as good as possible. A few hard green days and I'll be up big or enough that I walk away with the principal. Heck had I gone all in on today's low and got it out at today's midpoint (or mid point to the high) I could've been up like 2k. Just hope I'm not being foolish as the market has acted irrationally which is what I seek to take advantage of.

Bought a bunch of calls with a risk level that I consider tolerable enough and if everything returns to pre covid temporarily I can turn 6k into tens of thousands (could be hundreds of thousands if I go all in but I'm too scared to risk it all). No intent of holding long term.

This really isn’t a financial crisis at all. The government printed money and liquidity remained. But global supply has been shaken. Sure we will probably be okay in America, but the rest of the world that relies on a healthy global supply is in trouble. Of course this will hurt us in the end too.

Are you fucking serious? It was bad since day one. You can't seize the whole failing economy and expect it to work itself out. Debts both consumer and commercial were ATH. Repos were still being used, programs established during the GFC, 12 years ago. The second the Fed started trying to unwind the shit and increase interest rates we had a minor crisis (Sept., 2019).

This while you have shit like WeWork, Netflix, or Tesla being traded at absolutely absurd valuations while doing little more than cash burning. Forward multipliers well exceeding 20 in the tech domain. This despite commercial profits totally stagnating since 2012, despite that no matter what index you look at it rose disproportionately. Meanwhile fiscal policy and responsibility went out the fucking window, companies leveraging billions in debt, but surely you know about the buyback issue. Did you know about the assfucking that the Fed did to get these already trash companies to self-finance? Boeing had a bond auction and sold $40bn worth of bonds to investors. The Investors bought the bonds knowing that Boeing is going to get downrated so they can sell those bonds to the Fed, that means you're funding somebody else's capital gains, that means the next generation is paying for some faggot's Ferrari.

Oh and now, nobody has cash flow. No-fuckin'-body. most REITs are going to get fucked into oblivion. Anything hospitality oriented is fucking done for. Medical leases? Dealerships? (Strip) malls? The lattermost might be okay, but retail & hospitality is getting cast into the abyss. Banks are going to have razor thin profit, and negative rates being a formally recognized possibility means the financial sector might just get obliterated. New autos are going to be so illiquid it won't even be funny, and that's despite what will most probably be bottom rate gas costs. Disruptive models like WFH are far more likely to be pursued, and it's a great buzz for all the green-trend companies.

The government and market response to this natural disaster is the definition of 'indefinite optimism'. We will experience a sustained V-shaped rebound in consumer demand despite the 14.7% unemployment rate and continuing pandemic because _______.

Nobody can fill in the blank. Not one person. The market hasn't reflected the current reality of recession, it's fueled purely by indefinite optimism. Our government still has not developed a coordinated national testing response, because "one day, like a miracle, it will disappear".

I'm not sure if smart institutions dumping equities, several months of depression-tier data, or a second wave of COVID-19 will be the catalyst for a sanity check.

>shares come with warrants that give you the right to buy extra shares for a price later proportional to how many you buy
>at some point up to a max of two years later they announce who they're merging with
>can either take the class A shares of new company or bail

For example if you buy 30 shares of IPOC.U (which come with 1/3 warrant) you'll get 30 shares of the unknown company on IPO as well as 10 warrants to buy more shares at 11.50. The shares may or may not be worth more than the price but Chamath is pretty reputable.

The only reason to keep it secret is if you have something to hide. SPCE is a shitty company, it dumped - 30% after it went public and would have dumped harder were we not currently living in a hyper-inflationary environment for equities.

Had this been a year ago, perhaps I'd bite, but we're at the cusp of a recession or depression of some sort and any 'startup stock' you pick up now has an extremely high probability of being worthless in two years time.

Other than market makers with 100% certainty and insider knowledge, no, not really.
Downside to an actual short has no floor, the stonk can theoretically go to infinity while you're shorting it, and borrowed shares get recalled for ex-dividend dates on the horizon, among other factors.

The instruments to profit from downside are put options and inverse ETFs. Borrowing a stock to short it is really a relic from the era when these things didn't exist.

Where would the sell volume come from within the sectors you outlined if there were further margin calls and additional deleveraging. The markets are entirely too top-heavy right now. If there are further forced liquidations in the event that we see another downturn, tech will lead, followed by the index-matching funds that have benefited from institutional and municipal passive money managers being forced to pinch their nose and buy. Very little that isn't tech or not tied to an index has recovered to anywhere near the extent that the former have, and where would the liquidity come from if they were sold off in a fire sale first?

>If there are further forced liquidations in the event that we see another downturn, tech will lead, followed by the index-matching funds
maybe so, but I don't predict we'll be seeing forced selling like that that again, I expect investors will continue to want to move up in quality in equities.

The wealthiest aren't holed up on pandemic islands anymore, they see that things haven't gone totally off the rails. And the fed backstopped most everything they could. This isn't the bottom, and maybe we haven't seen the bottom for the indices, though it's possible we have for big tech, so maybe we have for the Nasdaq.

Tech is a primary reason the indices have recovered to the point that they have. If we were to have more downside due to whatever catalyst we could think of, tech will lead the pack down. The index-matching funds will follow, and create a whole slew of collateral damage in their wake.
