Depending on the ticket and amount your odds are closer to 1/10 - 1/12 for a winning ticket. But that win could just be a free ticket or $1. States laws vary but all stipulate a winning percentage similar to slot machines...the numbers on the back are actually part of a formula that dictate the odds and aren't representative of odds in the way you're thinking.
