What is your opinion on BAT and the Brave browser?

>> No.19021296

>>19021123
the browser seems good until you realize it tracks you and your data, and allows ads in many websites. If you dont care about being tracked and having to give your private info to cash out your tokens you can make a few bucks. If you care about real privacy then it sucks. This is a non meme answer from someone who had hundreds of dollars worth of bat tokens and chose not to use them to avoid their kyc wallet

>> No.19021406

Biz consensus is that Brave is a great browser and BAT is a shitty hold. I'd say BAT is a relatively low risk, low reward token. It's already got a market cap over 250 million so I wouldn't hold my breath for a 100x or even anything much better than 10x, but it should at least pump 4x or 5x in a legit bullrun.

Every test I've read said brave is actually the best when it comes to personal data.

>>19021123
It's basically chrome with built in ad-block. BAT might be a reliable hold, not necessarily the best gains one.

what are the two sides of the privacy debate with brave? what does it track? personally I'm not too concerned because I've been on the internet for about 20 years and feel it's too late to be anonymous (even though I don't use social media), and I'm probably not savvy and tech literate enough to try to be truly private and anonymous. But I would like to know the facts because I want to shill brave to people in real life

Lying faggot shill. This is why it's so hard to get non meme answers on /biz/. Why can't you just be honest and say "this browser's privacy actually sucks but you can still make money from it"

>Why can't you just be honest and say "this browser's privacy actually sucks but you can still make money from it"
Because its not true. I like the browser and it looks more secure/anonymous than chrome at first glance but I didn't really check it myself. Unless you got evidence of the opposite you should stfu.

data is stored client side, nothing is pinged back to Brave like on Chrome or Firefox.

>chose not to use them to avoid their kyc wallet

That's your prerogative. Not much can be done about the USA's KYC requirements at the moment, unfortunately.

Thanks for playing. Just be honest. Some people dont give a fuck about being tracked/privacy and would be happy to make a few bucks from browsing. Good for them.

I found that brave doesn't play well with some dapps. Buts it's cool I guess. Has the tor enabled privacy mode and all that shit. BAT is kinda...meh. If you want to cash out from brave wallet you gotta go through KYC which is a whole lot of suck. What's even the point of having a crypto token then? Its basically a stand in for fiat.

Look at the shills coming out. WHY cant you be honest and say "yes we track you but we give you money" 99% of people dont give a fuck and choose money over privacy. Here's a super normie site you can use to check
https://amiunique.org/fp and if that is not enough just use the fucking browser for a month and see how many ads and trackers it whitelists on the websites you visit. Jesus I use it and get so many ads on reddit and other normie sites compared to simple alternatives like waterfox with adblockers. Why are you acting like I am a heretic when anyone with the browser can check this themselves? This is the shadiest thing about brave - JUST BE FUCKING HONEST AND ADMIT THE PRIVACY IS SHIT BUT YOU GET MONEY FROM BEING TRACKED! Its not fucking difficult, you can make hundreds of dollars in a few months from using brave at the cost of your date and privacy and 99% OF PEOPLE ARE OK WITH IT! Just stop shilling your shit as privacy faggot shills

you guys sound like the people on /g/ who are afraid of any browser that isn't pale moon/ungoogled chromium/hardened firefox, it's less private than those obviously but it'll also actually work and not break every site under the sun. Unfortunately if someone wants total privacy they shouldn't even be on clearnet (or even use technology), but for a normie or a power user who also values functionality it's probably the best and most private

I provided you with evidence that the browser tracks users but the company (Brave) does not received (and therefore cannot sell) that information to third parties. For further evidence check Brave's open source code.

To reiterate, the browser allows FIRST PARTY advertising, for example if you google something, you'll get search engine ads from Google as they're first party ads. This is by design.

You're either 1) purposely misrepresenting what Brave does/doesn't do (it DOES track + store data client side; it DOESN'T violate privacy by sending data back to Brave's servers) or 2) you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Likely a combination of both.

>just use the fucking browser for a month

I've used the browser a lot longer than you, dipshit. I know a lot more about Brave than you as well. You're full of shit.

>amiunique.org

he's got the biggest brain. He's already thinking about the state of the internet in 2030. Not many can grasp Brendan's vision and I'm starting to doubt many will have the patience to hold BAT long enough to benefit from it coming into fruition.

BAT's not going to pump & dump its way into superiority. It's going to chisel away at the doubters while supplying millions of singular Brave users some BAT and convincing them of the token's worth through utility and meaningful demand. I just don't think the crypto pump & dump scene can see what they're building over at Brave, and they're too ADHD riddled to comprehend the long-term hold that BAT is.
