maybe because there's too much volatility these days and it goes up 1000 points one day and down 1000 points the next.

or maybe he knows the market is about to crash and waiting to swoop in when it's at the bottom.

or maybe he's fucking 90 years old and probably wears adult diapers at this point so who the fuck cares what he does?

He's clearly waiting for the right moment to go into big tech companies, as well as crypto.

The market crashes because people pull out their money. That's exactly what Buffet wants. By making news that he sells (e.g. airline stock) it generates a domino effect and the price falls. Then Buffet can buy cheap in.

The airlines were a big mistake. He sold to minimise damage actually.

Better sell at a loss, than lose even more. And he knows that they won't recover for a long time to come.

He's a retarded protoboomer who only made it because his dad was a congressman and engaged in insider trading back when people traded physical pieces of paper. In the last 10 years he has underperformed S&P500 because he only understands boomershit like airlines, insurance companies, and ketchup. He's a globalist puppet as well. Only r*ddit.com follows this absolute faggot.

That's a fascinating story. It was all down to accidents and chance. You forgot one part. And his father became congressman (0.0004% of population) only because... ?

It seems like you keep reporting this for FUD. Regardless, already posted about this and explained. Here’s what’s going on:

- Berkshire Hathaway has a lot of derivatives exposure with European-style options, where you can’t exit your position until expiration. Buffett bought a ton of these and they have varying exit dates over the next 6-8 years. Total exposure is about $38 billion.

- Massive exposure to insurance losses. Berkshire is one of the largest insurers in the world, and their sheer size has allowed them to write some policies where there is very little competition. Insurance works by pooling risk, so when a major event happens, such as a pandemic or a recession, or both, the result is massive losses. And Berkshire has some particularly bad exposure to what might be coming down the pike: tons of muni policies for states and local governments, many of which very well may declare bankruptcy. Massive claims for business insurance losses due to COVID-19. Declines in car ownership and elasticity limits on car insurance premium increases.

- A massive portfolio of stock ownership, where Berkshire is required to mark to market paper losses, even if it doesn’t sell shares.

- Unknown macroeconomic environment

All of these things are why he is holding cash. It isn’t the same as someone buying crypto or NEETing it up at their mom’s house. They’re unique to the business he operates.

Please stop reposting this Buffett shit incessantly.

He is both too young and too old. He has lived most of his life in a world where fundamentals mattered, PE ratios were a thing, etc... He was too young to live during the speculation of the 20s or the hyperinflation of the Weimar republic. He's now too old to realize we're replicating those times and the only thing that matters is central bank printing money until hyperinflation sets in.
