The market is pricing further ahead as the reemergence situation gains clarity, simple as. Also, stocks don't perfectly match the economy. This self-inflicted crisis is different than anything else in modern history, and it didn't begin in the financial system as much as permabears like Peter Schiff would like to argue. If there is even a small chance of a sharp V-shaped recovery the market will stay up, and the Fed and Federal Gov't moved with incredible speed to get ahead of this, which was arguably the biggest contributing factor during the Great Depression and 08-09.

It depends on what stage of the cycle we're in. Early on, small cap will outperform. Towards the end of the cycle, tech takes over. Compare VUG and VB between the low of the GFC in early 2009 and now. VUG only started to outperform VB since 2018, as more people started to take your view regarding tech and cycling out of the riskier, under-performing small caps.

Shorting is sometimes referred to as taking a position that the stock will go down in the future. One way to capitalize on this is buying a put. A put is a contract that allows the buyer to sell shares of a stock at a certain price until a certain date. For example, if you buy a 5/15 $700 put, you are buying the right to sell shares of Tesla for $700 until 5/15. If the stock falls below $700, and you paid less for the contract than your potential profits, then the put was worth money.

Seperate things. Each places a burden of obligation on a different person

Someone who sells short borrows a stock from someone. They have to rebuy stock back at a later date to pay back what they borrowed.

The person who writes a put on a stock, sells it to someone to collect a premium. This creates an obligation on their part to buy 100 of that stock at a later date, at the price listed on the put (called the strike price). If the price goes below the strike price, then the person who sold the put will lose money, since they will be forced to buy stock at a loss.

I am quite convinced now, that this is the cure, and herpes is the cause. The question whether the drug removes the filamin-a with wrong confirmation or repairs it is still up, and possibly the only risk factor here. If it is repaired, then we are set, if it is merely removed, then long term side effects might come. So the one year open label study poses a slight risk, but not that much. Also, I think the drug could be given for Parkinson's as well, since another herpes virus is involved there and some aspect of the pathology is the same.
Oh, and little happened since December, maybe that the company presented their long term strategy, meaning the open label study to prepare for phase3 and off the shelf offering for funding it. It's pretty nice.

What? Sell into strength, DCA on the way down. If you're making massive trades, this allows you to capitalize on the market trend and simultaneously not affect price action through your sale/purchase. But, for retail, the fundamentals are the same: you may miss out on some opportunity cost, but you also lock in your profits. It all is defined by your risk tolerance.

I don't know about their competition but I know for a fact that stem cell has been hot for more than a decade so far so they definitely have some.
Placental stem cells have consistently shown over the years to be excellent for a bunch of shit, for example just like they say they have significantly lower GVHD risks. However it's not nil unlike their PR claims, and cGVHD (which is classically regarded as a good thing) is really not what they should be focusing on (the real problem is aGVHD, which usually results in patient death, whereas cGVHD gives a little itch every so often at worse and is believed to contribute to continued graft integration).
Their clinical trial designs have a few red flags: it's in israel, which, memes aside, is not exactly well-reputed for keeping honest track of results, and their sample size is extremely small at n=20 (which is just about the minimum acceptable clinical trial size). On the other hand, you're not going to find many people to undergo this kind of trial even in the US, let alone in the much smaller israel (for which half the population will automatically reject based on the researchers' religion anyway).
Another red flag is that their publications are mostly in irrelevant or even (pseudo-)predatory journals (such as cells (note the s, not to be confused with cell which is a top-tier journal)). They also pad their publications with reviews and commentaries, which aren't real scientific contributions.
I don't believe they are a particularly good choice in this specific field.

What stock should I buy with this spare cash on robinhood? I could fit in one share of facebook. Looking to make a decent small amount.

I doubt they'll do anything good covid-wise, which is another reason I was focusing on their core interests. Every lab in the world, even those (like them) who have nothing to do with viruses, public health, infectiology, etc. are trying to moonshot into a corona-something (treatment, cure, whatever), even when they don't believe there's any chance their shit is useful, because it's an opportunity of a lifetime for them. well looking at the stock price we are definitely in meme-covid territory right now as its up from $3->$10 from a few weeks ago

but I think this might keep running after this news today. Any new application for their treatment seems like a huge positive, when before it looks like they were focused on hip injuries and vascular damage. I can see this thing exploding on any sign of positive treatment results going forward.

other things I saw, they just did a (small, 15 million) stock offering a few days ago and the stock price did not flinch at all
Also 25% short interest, very high, much covering

I'm fuckin IN on this bitch
Thanks for the analysis, I know next to nothing about stem cells

In terms of speculation, you're right. But there are tons of stem-cell-based treatments that actually work out there and there's nothing new with what they're doing. They don't seem to have the ability to do anything new either. As a pump and dump or a speculative bet, this is a great play no doubt about it. But it's not a long-term next-moderna-tier bet.

Most are not publicly traded, but an example is excellthera. Vericell and Sangamo are well-known and publicly traded. Novartis is one of the biggest biotech companies and they deal with that too. Another is asymetrex.
