does it even matter if 15 or 20 or even 30% of people are unemployed? Most of them are low-value workers at the bottom of society who contribute next to nothing. They don't have any disposable income to begin with and any loss by them being poorer will be made up by the rich who are getting richer. UBI is coming and will make sure society's bottom feeders don't starve or riot.

So, I don't see how high unemployment will affect corporate earnings much, outside of businesses that cater exclusively to the poor

did you not read?
1. the people losing their jobs are the people at the bottom of society who already didn't have money
2. UBI will replace their income so even the bottomfeeders will still have money to spend
3. any decreased spending by the poor who have gotten poorer will be made up by increased spending by the rich who have gotten richer

I have a PhD. If people can live comfortably off Ubi, I will no longer work. I refuse to be the only one working. I would rather have this kike society collapse and rebuilt.

it's already the case. Many jobs are bullshit that produce no value. near 50% of American households get some kind of welfare. The government just printed trillions of dollars to hand out to people and businesses and there hasn't been any inflation.

define comfortably. I'd rather work and drive a nice car, have a nice apartment, eat good food, than not work and live in a shithole, drive an old beater, eat only junk...

Poor account for auto loans. Auto loans are put into securities. Securities are sold on wall street, bought by pensions, governments and everything in between. Defaults on auto loans increase due to unemployment. Pensions n governments loss money cause Tyrone can't make a payment on his caddy.

It's all tied together whether you like it or not. When you shit on the bottom line, you essentially shit on everything upstream.

I'm for ppl going back to work. Who cares if their job as a waiter making $400 every other night is considered "low" to you, cause as a banker I like to eat out. Now go fuck off to jerking off to covid-19 deaths you cunt.

>> No.18953241

>>18953138
what percentage of debt is auto-loan debt? tiny compared to mortgages isn't it? An auto loan bubble popping isn't going to cause a crisis in the way the housing bubble did in 2007. the government would just bail out the banks and possibly the borrowers anyway so there's essentially zero risk of a snowball effect.

i doubt UBI would be enough for that. don't forget you never own your house since you have to pay rent called property tax. Houses are expensive to maintain also. Gotta replace the roof, fix the air conditioner, repair the pipes. Your car won't last forever and will also need maintenance and eventually replacement. Eating well is also expensive. UBI isn't going to cover all of that. Working will always beat UBI. UBI will just be there so the useless people in society don't starve and/or riot.

also working on a doctorate in a productive field, if I was capable of living effectively (food, shelter, etc.) entirely on UBI, I would. I do not care in the slightest if it's 'destructive to societey' or whatever.
pretty much all luxuries are memes and I can live without them. I don't mind.

no you don't you moron. you can deduct property tax from your income and pay less federal tax, but guess what, if the property tax is less than the standard deduction, $12k, then there's no benefit for deducting property tax. There's also a $10k cap on state and local taxes.

lol bullshit, you could already get welfare/food stamps/medicaid if you wanted to subject yourself to living in poverty forever. just claim mental illness or something. bam, no need to work anymore. but you won't do that, because you're a wagie and that's all you know.
