Go on indeed and look for fab/welding/fitting jobs and apply as a helper or grinder or assistant , tell them you want to learn how to weld and you just want to get your foot in the door. I used to make small hourly wages too and felt hopeless about the future. I prayed the whole rosary every day for about 2 years begging God for help in my work life. Also applying everywhere all over the place. One day i had a call for an interview i figured for a position id never in a hundred years get as i was sure there were other way more qualified applicants.

Didnt give too much of a shit about the interview and that feeling made me feel no pressure. That same day they called and said they chose me, i was in awe.

That was about 5 years ago my friend and now im sitting on a comfy 35hr work week at just over $30/hr for a comfy job i love.

If i would suggest one thing is to always refuse to give up trying, even if its 10 minutes a day of trying. Pray for guidance.

Find any trade job bro. I'm a plumber apprentice making $23 CAD after 2 years, 42 after 4 years. Honestly so many dummies in trades I'm starting to fish around to get a higher paying trade. You gotta not mind working hard, or solving physical problems. You MUST watch out for your own health. Work safe. Use PPE and don't breath in bad shit. When they say lift with good form they mean it. a good mind-muscle connection can prevent lots of injuries. Go deadlift and squat if you must.

I've always been a computer guy so it took a bit to adapt but they expect apprentices to be dumbasses. That you'll even put in effort impresses the fuck out of them. Whole company's amazed at me but I'm just putting the same effort I put into anything. The union is used to lazy dog fuckers lol.

I Rent a house with my gf, $600 a month. But the restaurant has an apt above it and I know the guy that owns the building very well, so depending on how I’m doing in a couple years, I might try to buy the building. Also i am hoping that the housing market crashes because all these rent strikes. We will see how it goes.

>> No.18883727

>>18883553
Unless your trained or educated in a very specific skill your factory job could end at any moment. The restaurant could go under at any moment.

If you take on a huge mortgage without stability you're just asking for trouble. I say take the next couple of years to lockdown a home. You wanna buy a building? well what happens if you lose your job or the restaurants profits goes down? or you and your gf break up? or your mom dies?

Make sure you have a secure source of income. You don't want a mortgage for an entire fucking building just for the luxury of an apartment above a business you don't even own

I live in Connecticut and the cost of living is as expensive as you can get. No one here is going to pay $40 an hour for landscaping buy some random guy. I landscaped at a company in fairfield county and I can tell you nobody, and I mean, nobody paid $40 an hour for mowing lawns.

It was closer to $25. Even then rich people aren't going to hire some guy. They're going to hire a proper company. this is terrible advice. Even if you made $25 an hour landscaping you'd only be able to save $500 a month. and on top of that it's seasonal work. don't listen to this retard
