The real bubble we have been in is from the start of QE in the 90s with memespan. All that has happened since then is inflating of new bubbles. Every crisis will require ever more dramatic QE measures.

American Colleges and Universities are responsible for that. Look up the statistics about political affiliation before and after college/uni. And before you say "well it's because they become educated!", also look up how as one progresses through school, they become LESS accurate about what conservatives think in terms of political views. I don't think I even have to mention the absolute garbage being taught in the very soft social sciences and humanities.

Just look back at the 50's. Conservatives were absolutely more conservative then than they are now, and then look at liberals. Socially, they are far far beyond what any liberal in the 50's would have found acceptable.

Well 1. Diversity out of the ass. It's the best, and that's the only reason America is great, because we're so diverse.
2. Education. If you don't get at least a bachelor's degree, you're a piece of shit and doomed to failure. Pushing kids into the more intensive propaganda, not to mention government reliance, which is #3
3. Big government good, bigger government better!
4. Just tons of little things. My favorite example, I had to learn about slavery every single year from at the very earliest 5th grade until my senior year. Not one single time during any of those years was it even mentioned a single time that white people were also slaves in the U.S., but there's tons of little stuff like that.

Left-wing militant extremist groups like FALN, SDS, Panthers were numerous. And they didn't just subvert values and forcefully install their own everywhere they could - they openly killed and bombed as their MO.

Serious question: At this moment in time, is there anything more Reddit than being a media-ingesting midwit who truly believes COVID-19 is some terrifying killer virus, and is bearish about the market because they think the market OWES it to them to go down due to all the panic-porn they've been swallowing nonstop since the beginning of March?

It's a phenomenon. People are allowing their media consumption and political opinions to dictate their views on the market. They're literally losing money due to the news/media/social media they are choosing to believe and ignore. Don't mean to go /pol/ on the thread but this is a definite overlap I've been seeing lately in these threads: politics, virus view, market belief.

Depends on your style of trading
Long term? Lmao who cares
Swing? You should be awake but its not a problem if you arent. Sometimes its important though, like before ER and so on.
Day trading? Your choice. But you dont make money while you sleep.

Most important times are the 30mins after open and before close anyways.

Genuinely surprised at some of the people who I regarded as intelligent, in a complete panic about the virus. My friend says he won't go outside other than for groceries until those medical personal associated with the government say it's ok. I asked him "So lets say you want to go to a bbq tomorrow, but you won't, because of covid. Now imagine if tomorrow, Fauci comes on TV and says the lockdown is over and it's fine to get into small groups again. What has fundamentally changed from tomorrow, other than 1 man saying "ok, you can go?"". Response? "Fauci is one of the top experts, I trust what he says".

Smallest unit is $1k. You get that 1k back by some maturity date but in the meantime you get interest on the money you lent. Typically these are rather pathetic compared to gains in the market, especially the absolute dumpster fire that are treasury bonds. Long story short, for a single individual what is more interesting are bonds from companies with junk rating. Typically you can purchase the bond off of other bondholders at less than 1k and still get back 1k from the original issuer provided they survive the maturity rate and can pay you back. I've been scouring the bond markets for companies that might survive their trash financials with easy credit.
They are riskier than a lot of stock plays but you know EXACTLY what your returns will be and some of these would be like 200% in 1-2 years.

Yes, but most people are retards too. 1 contract gives you the “option” to buy 100 shares(call) or sell 100 shares(put) at whatever strike price the option is for. Without going into too much detail, these are either used to hedge against risk, or for gambling on price movement. It’s good for gambling because you can essentially gain 100 shares worth of profit for a fraction of the price, since you don’t actually have to purchase the 100 shares.

Take the price multiply by 10. That is what you pay to buy that bond from a current bondholder. The maturity date is 6/2021. These bonds, originally issued by Tupperware, are for 1k each.
That means, if Tupperware survives and can pay back those bonds you would get 1000 for every 380-400 dollar bond you purchased (+ some irrelevant but nice interest from the coupon rate). That is a 250% return locked in TODAY.
If Tupperware could not pay back that bond, their stock would almost certainly be already worthless. In liquidation/bankruptcy proceedings bondholders are given dispensation FIRST. So even if not complete it would just need to be more than half the price for you to still make it out okay.

Now the price either reaches the strike at the end of the contract, or it doesnt. If it does the shares get sold, if it doesnt you keep the premium and the shares.

Imagine it like betting against your own huge success. In most cases a stock will not explode, you win the bet and keep the money. You cap your upside for money. But that money also lowers your downside. Week after week

I mean that's the risk you take with a 250% return in 1 year. But it is no different than airline bagholders. They expect at best similar payoffs but if the ones they are holding go bankrupt they will be entitled to almost nothing as an equity holder.

I'm a idiot and I thought if you bought shares after hours you would be locked in at that price. But I found out that is not true you are only locked in at that price if the shares loss money or only raise within 3% of the price you thought you were buying into. It seems like the ultimate hustle. If the shares raise 5% or more at opening then RH keeps the shares and refunds your money but if the opening price is negative you get the shares. Its a win win for RH they never need to use there own funds and can only accumulate funds because they bought the stock with your money and can decide whether to keep the shares for profit or dump them on you. Fucking brilliant.

Thanks anons. I think I kiiinda get it? You're buying a high volume of shares at a relatively low price. Say, one dollar. You set a sale price slightly higher in anticipation of the value of the shares going up, say, two dollars. Then someone buys a share at two dollars once it works its way up to that point. If it doesn't make it up to two dollars, then you technically didn't lose anything. But you could set up a limit sell so if it drops to 95 cents, you're only losing out on 5% of your original investment.
