You still have to go long or short. CFDs are for leverage, or for shorting. If you go long you can buy the underlying asset, if you short you buy a CFD. You can buy a CFD for going long as a way to leverage your trade, same with shorting. So if the underlying asset moves 1% and you have 5x leverage on a CFD you make 5%, or you lose -5% if it goes the opposite direction to your trade.

I don't know about either of those things. Main thing I'm seeing here is the S&P e-mini is now in sell territory on the daily and follow-through on this tomorrow would put SPX/SPY also in sell territory. Nasdaq and Dow are similar situation.

However, futures have only been open for an hour and the e-mini isn't showing much volume yet. We'll see how things move this evening and in to tomorrow.

Cascade, consumer confidence is shot. People are going to be spending less, lower money velocity means businesses won't utilize staff effectively, or even be able to afford them. That means layoffs and terminations. Credit availability is shot right now, neither business nor consumer loans are going to be as available as they were just a couple months ago, there's too much risk and very little upside. And we're also looking, I think the estimates showed, at something like 16% unemployment for Q3, and we're already at 10%, which is probably actually short of the reality. For example, a lot of people are still technically on payroll to receive benefits, or took pay cuts or lost hours. Plenty of them are going to be let go.

There's a fractaline pattern of failure beyond those immediate considerations. Needless to say, for now shit has been set in motion that will cause a continuous fall.
