What's the best time to buy a house in the next year or so, what's the market gonna do. UK specifically. Cheers.

It would literally take me one picosecond to pass on the hunt for actual ass.

>> No.18842098

Honestly, I strongly doubt any time in the next 5 years minimum is going to be a good time to buy.

Think about all the AirBnBs that just went belly up, WeWork busted too and while that's commercial space there's no way that doesn't bring down real estate as well.

Given 26M are still out of work, no reason for prices to start going up, so anything you buy is just going to lose value, I think.

Yeah I'm in a tourist area, so i'm hoping that a large portion of potential buyers are now looking elsewhere which is good for me. End of day I'm looking to move out from my parents though so I'm not spending 5 years here, I want to buy within the next year. Things I'm reading say oh it'll recover by next year, I'm just wondering where the dip so to speak wll be between now and then, whether prices will sink and sink for the next year or sink for 6 months then start going up again or what.

I have three houses but kind of regret getting them so young (26) as it got me weighed down in a shit area. All this depends on your age, career, plans etc. Being able to move around and just rent a flat where ever does have advantages desu.

>> No.18842831

>>18842536

Only want a cheap flat desu, so would be looking at holding onto it for a few years if I do stay in my hometown, if not I can get my aunty to manage it and rent it out. If I did move out, but I'll be ere for at least 5 years.

I'm thinking of waiting a year or two because the prices aren't responding yet. We're still only in the early stages of the happening.

Zillow is all price drops and foreclosures. Property taxes will be going up. Nobody needs to live in a city to do white collar work, and cities suck to live in. I'm saving for the next 3-4 years and putting a few down payments then on multiple houses across multiple areas of North America.

Many middle class jobs are never returning to offices. Few months of remote work proved that people can work as effectively from home. This means dramatic price drops in urban areas. Let’s be honest nobody likes to live in places like NY or SF or London or whatever. It’s only because the jobs are there. And now that’s not an issue people will move to where they really like. Nice community oriented developments of like minded people will see a sharp rise in coming decades while used to be popular urban areas are going to see huge price drops.

exactly what I'm thinking is going to happen too. Everyone living in a tiny cuck apartment in a city with no garden is going to be thinking very carefully about how they can get somewhere more amenable to future lockdowns
