business is a worthless degree. they take low paying, low level business jobs that were traditionally done by people without a degree. insurance claim adjuster, entry level sales, entry level recruiting, retail management trainee, warehouse management trainee, etc.

if you're lucky maybe you'll get something interesting with career potential like supply chain/logistics analyst, human resources associate, etc. but you'll be facing competition from people with specialized degrees or certifications in those fields.

unless you're literally retarded you should strongly consider specializing. accounting, MIS/CIS, supply chain/logistics, human resources, it doesn't matter. anything is better than a generic bachelors in business administration.

I got my finance degree and started out working as a junior planner at a firm. Did that for a year and realized people are fucking stupid and will never understand the fundamentals of investing or retirement planning. Went back to school and got an accounting degree. Now I work at a manufacturing plant that is the only one in the world that produces this specific kind of product doing their purchasing and supply line logistics and some accounting support. I’m making way more than I did doing financial planning and I no longer have to deal with the dumb as shit general public.

The basic business administration degree is totally useless. Most end up selling insurance.

this is unrealistic. finance is all about dumb fucking meetings all day long. i say this as someone who works in accounting and deals with FP&A morons. they're constantly wasting my time with dumbass meetings. it's very much an "asses in chairs" position, a lot of face time with coworkers/superiors, meetings, and presentations.

based. i >>18821496 also went back to school for a masters in accounting. did a year in public accounting (b4 audit) now i work as a GL accountant at a medical device manufacturer. it's boring and frustrating at times but the pay isn't bad and the work life balance is pretty good. oh, and the career potential is good.

if you hate your life now, just wait until you're flying coach (no one below partner ever flies business class) cross country and living out of a suitcase for weeks and weeks on end. fly out sunday night, get back friday night. use all weekend to catch up on chores. "but i'm saving so much money!" except you're still paying rent on an apartment you see maybe 48 hours a week and if you work for a jewish firm (most are) they won't cover all of your meals, just most of them.
