Hoping to give back to /biz/ because without you idiots I wouldn't know about link.

When I got older and started taking my personal life seriously I also made a commitment to myself to only care about results. I went through a lot of trial and error and ended up making a few catfishing-lite dating profiles online where I photoshopped some hi-res pictures of my face (pic in OP is just random off the internet) to make my nose more symmetric. The results were pretty stark.

The truth is every woman has an ideal man in her head that no man will ever actually be. The less you deviate from that ideal the easier it is to do whatever you want with her (fuckbuddy to serious relationship).
The even bigger truth is that the entire world is superficial, even those people who try very hard not to be. It is evolutionarily ingrained to look for evidence of good genes, high IQ and resource success. You can "rise above" that just like you can stop yourself from breathing.

I wasn't a bad looking guy before but now that I'm a male 8-9/10 life is easier in literally every way. Its like that old Eddie Murphy skit where he goes in whiteface and everyone starts giving him things for free.
In a way it is displaying good genes: when the whole world is telling you not to do something but everyone with money quietly does it, you're smarter than the average if you get what's actually going on.

For the surgeon what I did was look around on the net and then specifically ask people in the non-plastic surgery ENT and derm community who was good. In each city there are one or two providers who do only that and that is who you want. The guy I had was awesome and told me exactly what to expect and what not to expect.
Also another good indicator is if they do revisions. The vast majority of providers won't but if the person is good enough to fix the mistakes of bad plastic surgeons they're worth looking into for primary.

Plastic surgery and other such procedures are valid for irregularities that aren't as hard set. But having been fucked since birth due to environmental factors, I do not know how such bone development can be reversed or corrected passed when its fused.
