Every day for (174 days left for 2020) the rest of the year, you’ve definitely doubled or tripled your money. I just don't get it anymore, it's like nothing actually matters, everything just does whatever it wants. Looming bankruptcy? Pump. Literal actual bankruptcy? Pump. Oil hits new low? Oil stocks pump.

And then you try going in the reverse, buy a company with a solid balance sheet at a good price? Somehow dumps even more. Buy a stock that has been going flat for two weeks, suddenly dumps for absolutely no reason at all. News doesn't matter, rumours don't matter, it's all algo bullshit just throwing the market left and right for no reason at all. This is literally gambling now, it's not even an exaggeration to call it that anymore. Here in Toronto, Foodora just announced they're shutting down (conveniently right when their deal to deliver booze from the provincial liquor stores finished). Couriers were about to unionize, but more importantly I think people are cottoning on to how shit these delivery apps are as a business model. They force restaurants to lower their margins further, customers to pay huge markups, and there's the persistant risk that couriers will just fuck off with the food or deliver it 2 hours late. We still have Uber, Door Dash, and Skip the Dishes, but they have the same problems and will almost definitely see their own union fights in the next couple years.
Good alternative to look at will be Ritual - it's much the same ecosystem but focusses on taking orders for pickup, eliminating the biggest overhead and liability of contracted couriers.

China, world and europe are technically risky (low upside, medium downside at all times, and corona means more downsides than up).
cisco isn't exactly low-risk but it's obviously not high-risk.
M$, if it's relatively old, is extremely good. Raytheon as well.
Intel, not so much in the current environment (not referring to covid).
