one way:
Buy a stock that has more or less identifiable ups and downs on a chart.

Buy the stock when it is at what looks like a low.

Sell the stock at what you think is near the high.

Get the profit.

If it is 1000 or more, stop. If it is less than 1000 profit repeat steps.

another way:

Find a stock that has been relatively side moving, or that recently had a dip due to bad news.

Identify a price that you think it won't go below.

Sell a PUT at this price for one week out. Collect the premium. You will have to buy the stock if it his this low you set, but you will not have to of it does not.

Even if it does execute, you might buy it just before it starts to rise again and you can benefit from the premium and the gains in price.

In addition if you do get stuck with the stock, you can sell a covered call on it for a price above market that you are willing to part with it. Your upside profits will be limited to the price you set, but don't be greedy and you will be okay.

You could likely turn 10k into 11k in a week or less using these strategies.
