A lot of sector weakness however, this is gonna be a comeback story, second derivative exposure to airlines but 60% of the business is effectively handicapped for the next two years or so. But when demand is back could be 120+ share price and a divvy.

If people want returns, they won't go to the banks, they won't go to bonds, and the wealthy (who hate volatility) won't look to pure equities, you know where they'll look? BAM. It's that simple.

thank you for the advice. I know about the decay, however, I do want to point out that unlike SPXS and other bear ETFs, there's been minimal decay in TVIX and it theoretically could max out on another equal leg down at around ~800-900.

I'm basing my investment from what I saw in Feb 2018 where TVIX popped hard, fell, and came back up significantly for awhile before going back down. It seems to do this regularly during large drops in the market so this is just the waiting phase.

So I have been watching videos on the "wheel strategy", I can't wrap my head around one thing. Why is it preferable to start with selling covered puts, rather than selling covered calls? Was "The Wheel" more popular in "infinite bull run pre-cornoa" market? If the whole idea is to use a stock you're fine owning long term... why not just buy it, collect any divvies for holding it, and then sell calls at ATHs repeatedly to where by the time you get assigned, the stock has moved above where you bought it anyway. If I am feelin extra sketched out by upcoming events or something, I could buy a put as insurance. Divvy payouts also general take a chip out of a stocks value, acting as a weight against the covered call strike price and the divvy goes in my pocket.

Because you don't actually want to receive the stock. Cash-covered puts are safe (not infinite risk) while naked calls are not (infinite risk), so you prefer starting with a cash-covered put. Should you be assigned, you then make a covered call, and again your goal is not to sell the stock but only to collect the premium. If all goes well you never do anything but cash-covered puts, but in practice you will eventually be assigned and move on to a covered call.

Also, you absolutely do NOT want to use this strat with divvy stocks, because divvy stock is often exercised before the deadline even when it's not yet itm due to dividend yield being worth more than the remaining difference.

that NVDA trade fucked me good. feel pretty numb to it tho so thats a win i guess. more strangles and verticals for more protected plays this next week. market is brutal and holding anything overnight is a literal cointoss
