Airlines and oil are going to be year + long holds to get decent returns at LEAST. Price war and oversupply from destroyed demand is going to take forever to burn through. Airlines are going to have to fight travel restrictions as well as many large conferences having already decided to go online for the rest of the year. Travel restrictions between countries that seek to limit "reinfection" rates are going to be even more confused than inside countries.

Mostly just a preference, BAM has been buying lots of utilities in 3rd world countries for insanely cheap, and as emerging markets go under they're gonna get more cheapies, Oaktree is gonna perform wonderfully in a distressed credit environment. Blackstone isn't a horrible buy, it's gonna benefit from an increasing allocation to alternative assets, but I think Brookfield is better prepared for a downturn with safer assets and less of an exposure to pure financial markets.

Sums it up. Markets were down. The new Oil futures contracts were traded while the dead one died it's rightful death. But the oil futures plummeted to about 9 and is holding there. I should add, any time a stock or index oscillates up and down with a closing envelope, it means that the stock is closing into a distinct price where both sellers and buyers agree.
As a result, two things happen, either a crab or a disjoint. A disjoint is when the sellers or buyers explosively disagree and the market shoots up or down. The way you predict the direction is through resistance lines and volume.

This fall was pretty predictable because volume was very low and our envelope closed almost right against a resistance line. We'd need to break the moving average of the SMA AND we'd need to do it with very little people when everyone is holding onto bags that they wanna dump ASAP

Either you daytrade and thus don't need them, or you don't daytrade and thus don't need them (you'll look at your stocks once a day/week/month or whatever your timeline is, setup your stop losses and optionally take profits appropriately, and let 'er rip). There is no reasonable scenario where an alert is useful because if you're so busy making a move that you can't see a new move coming and thus need an alert (the one thing alerts are meant for), you are currently making too many trades at once and can't afford to take that trade that the alert is telling you about.

That's the gist of trading, but if you put your stop too high you'll get stopped instantly and if you put it too low you'll lose too much money. Even commission-free brokers charge something for transactions (like $0.0008 or so) so if you keep doing that you always lose. Plus if you don't sell before it hits the stop, you never win. The trick is to buy the ones that go up, which are the only stocks you should ever be holding since you're selling them before they go down. Another thing you can do is sell a stock and then buy it before it goes up. I had 10 shares on me and I enjoyed the rise at the moment but quickly realized I had to get out of my position to lock in the gains as they dwindled to 200, 150, 50, then negative 87 but I fucked up by pressing the wrong buttons or selected the wrong shit (first time trading and I was at work when shit blow off) so now I'm left HODLing for damage control. Because the earnings report was so good and people did predictably dumped during the last 15 minutes (437-431, stabilizing at 433) will there still be momentum moving towards Friday despite the red back and forth shitshow that was all day today (the USO debacle too)?
