It’s not meant to be FUD or hopium. It’s just a rough estimate of what the price of link would be in certain scenarios. If you’re holding out for the 1000$ meme, I guess it’s fud, bc it shows how huge the change in mcap and rank need to be for that to happen. But if you’ve got a good stack (10k or more), things look good; the 25-65$ range looks very possible in the next few years.

Read the text at the bottom? Of course that assumption is wrong. This is just a starting point so price estimates aren’t completely retarded (1000 eoy). If you think the distribution will change, he question is, how? If you think BTC dominance will decrease, ranks 2-30 would have a greater share of the crypto mcap, so the link price might be higher at those ranks. But, it’s also possible that we start seeing winner-takes-all shit in each crypto type; like suppose BTC finally destroys BCH and BSV, and Eth 2.0 destroys all the other dapp platforms. That could make it even more top-heavy, with the top few coins being crazy valuable and the rest getting slaughtered. The effects of changes in mcap distribution are something each person can figure out for themselves, and would require an adjustable set of % values for each rank. Super easy to do on your own, but can’t exactly fit that in a jpeg on a Mongolian coronavirus emergency phone tree pamphlet. Mcap/rank staying the same is a decent starting assumption imo
