Most college students are claimed by their parents as dependents, but if you're not you can still get the money. I made about 1000 dollars too much for my parents to claim me so I got the check despite going to college.

I once bought a lolipop at a gas station and submitted the receipt as a business expense and 4 years later two women from the IRS came to do an audit and asked me to explain it. I told them I drive to work and used the gas money as a deductable so I submitted the receipt as proof but they kept pointing at the $1.40 lolipop on the receipt

I tossed them some of my accounting books from the business but they kept slowly tapping the receipt while clearing their throat and staring me in the eye

I never felt so threatened about something so small and stupid. They kept staring at me like I was a criminal and they found this massive fraud in my books they even had the audacity to remind me

I was stupid enough to admit it was a mistake and that I only wanted to use the gas as a deductable and not the lolipop and that I should have mentioned it on the reciept. They then smilled and left without a word.
The week after I recieved a 150% fine in the mail for my entire taxes paid 4 years ago, with a sticky note attached that read
