it s the same as the dollar, a gigant amount of funds that were in other countries, mainly emerging countries, went back to the US

as such, perhaps not even the economical downfall after the corona will be able to crash the market

idk about RH but most brokers just cover the cost of exercising in the interim, and either sell you out immediately (next open), or dont let you do any more trades till you sell out. if theres a big gap against you theyll undoubtedly take what you lost, but idk what else they could do

i mean they operate kinda like a bank now, so idk why itd be any different

For example during the dip at the start of the day today, all of my calls were losing money despite the stock going up. To me that seemed like a real harbinger for someone to sell an itm call, where the stock has upward momentum, at a loss. So I sold it.

2 hours later the calls caught up to the stock and they made money. How the fuck am I supposed to predict that? Since I used up my day trades for the week and I lost about $500 dollars, I'm gonna sit this one out until the market makes more sense. This teeter todder bullshit isn't fun.

No ones going to buy a shit contract that has no way of being fulfilled. Just let it expire. People waste money buying puts all the time. I don’t know why people are even bearish in this market when we’re already in a dip and everything is so volatile.

If you’re bearish sell covered calls. That way you’re not risking losing any money, you’re just risking losing profits.

Yes. First you don't understand how yield is calculated at all. Second you don't understand how divvy payments work at all, nor obligations with regard to divvies. You've got a lot of googling up to do but the basic premise is 3-fold:
- There is no guarantee the company won't go under
- There is no obligation to the divvy payment except in REITs (which pay 90%+ of profit as divvies by law). Companies can decide at any time not to pay divvy for selected periods, or to reduce it, or to increase it
- The divvy yield is previous payment (averaged over some horizon) over previous price (again averaged some horizon). If last divvy was 3 months ago horizon is 1 and current stock price is 1/2 what it was, it turns a 10% real yield into a 20% yield on the sheets. In truth, with such a downturn, the company will probably elect not to pay divvies at all.

And that's a pretty stupid response, countries with difficult to control vectors of spread could be a good shorting opportunity. So ones with a history of failing to control feline spreaders, it's something I care about.

Or if there are companies I'm investing in that do a lot of manufacturing in those countries, that could be something worth considering.

Nigger, you need to watch YT vids on this shit. I was confused by this at first too - there's a difference between buying a put then selling that option, and SELLING a put. When you buy a put, you are correct. All you can lose is your initial investment. When you SELL a put, you get an upfront payment for your risk, but could be forced to buy 100 shares if the price of the stock drops. Robinhood wont even let you SELL puts unless you have enough money in your account to buy 100 shares should you be forced to
