Let me explain why SPCE investors are dumb. See this? This is a bunch of grain silos that all exploded. They're putting the finishing touches in SN4 right now. They've already started construction on SN5. They're building them approximately one every two weeks right now, with a goal of building one every 72 hours.

Eventually one of them won't explode. The moment that happens, SPCE loses all reason to exist. Because Starship is purely better in every metric than anything Virgin is developing. And what else happens when one of them doesn't explode?

Why, 72 hours later, you have another one that doesn't explode. And annudah one. And annudah one. This is what people are missing. Elon's not just building Starship prototypes, he's using the prototypes to develop a fucking mass production line, for STARSHIPS.

But yeah, Branson's suborbital glider one-off is cool, I guess.

Agreed, my point was more that the anon asking about "waves" wasn't really asking the right question - they aren't at an early stage where individual travellers or sporting events cause a visible surge on the curve, they've had consistent slow growth through the past month. As a side note obviously their real numbers are higher as with every country (which is probably good) but I do believe their daily growth rate.

Day trading isn’t that great of an idea. My advice is to find an entry point, and hold for awhile. Doesn’t have to be long term, maybe medium term. The idea is not to buy stocks and sell them 3 days later (unless you have made incredible gains). The idea is to hold them for a bit longer.

You should make some money. Stocks are pretty cheap now. Buy and make money in 2-16 weeks. Then sell when you are happy. Or just hold for the long haul.

The problem isn‘t the death rate, it‘s the spread as well as the time even people who will recover need to spend hospitalized. This shit spreads too fucking rapidly and to recover takes too much fucking time. Once beds are all full in hospitals, people start dying not just from treatable cases of coronavirus but literally every otherwise treatable disease.
And on another note it doesn‘t even matter how low the mortality rate is, if this thing infects everyone, then even a few percent deaths will kill millions.
And then there‘s the fact that even non lethal cases can leave people impaired for a while.

Oh I’m very concerned about my parents. I’m also concerned about the vulnerable in general, though not as much. The US needs a functioning medical system, and keeping the vulnerable inside makes sense until we can get mass testing on most of the population. Antibody and gen covid test. We have to be smart and work hard to beat this thing back.

Everyone knew they'd be catastrophic. It wasn't like it was suddenly so much more catastrophic because it was a millionn higher than goldman's projection. It was above many projections, but not all of them.

People had the weekend to think things over and realize hey, I still want to own great american companies. Big companies that will be the only ones left standing. Probably accurate. But there is the possibility that it was a bio weapon stolen from another country. They might have been studying it to make a vaccine for it. Or they could have made it themselves. They have a level 4 lab like 10 miles from ground zero.

In either case, they let this virus escape somehow.

I don't want to invest in ANYTHING travel related until there's hope that this thing is solved. I'll miss the bottom but that's fine, I want to buy good businesses that I know won't go bankrupt, companies that have bright futures and can handle this crisis well.

I do not want to buy bad businesses because I think they're cheap.

This is also not the environment I want to be buying industrial companies, especially ones that do lots of business with Boeing.

I'm not terribly knowledgable about those companies anyways. I advise you to read more and learn more about the business cycle, balance sheets, and sectors. And really everything, whatever you find interesting just go to investopedia and read entries and click links and read more enntries.

The Wuhan virus lab woman years ago already showed there were covid strains in bats the could directly attack humans without mutating through pigs.
They collect bats from all over southern china (as well as the province Wuhan is in)
Essentially it could be a WT from the province, it could be from a WT sample that someone got exposed too on the way to the lab, it could be a mutation that occurred at the lab or it could be a leak of the virus she was using for her next paper.
There are so many options, other than leaked lab virus I doubt even china knows for sure.
