yes. I went ot treatment for 3 months (having been to different places 3 other times). then lived in a halfway house for 7 months. the first month in the halfway house I went to IOP at the rehab. now I work there full time, am an A student on the deans list and will be sober 3 years this Thursday. AA and NA have worked for me. There is hope for us friend.

Take a few months for the physical sides to ease up, 6-12 months for your head to start to clear. good luck anon it can be done, eat well, rest and also do some form of exercise even though you feel like shit to speed things up.

>> No.18434850

my bones have never felt right since that shit and I’ve been off it for years now, also moods although improved are pretty flat now.

I’ve been sober for six months but unironically I’m feeling worse, I been thinking it’s the weight gain , 20 kilograms of fat...

>> No.18434895

You need to focus on restoring what remains of your neural pathways. Foods with proteins are great precursors to dopamine and serotonin. Chicken breast, steaks, etc. Your T levels are probably shot as well. Don't drink alcohol. Sleep regularly. Lift weights. Unironically just practice healthy habits. Its cliche because its true.

Or you could be like me and spend hours on google scholar researching the neural toxicity of methamphetamine and adderall and subsequently the studies on neurological recovery.

Meth is worse than crack and or heroin. Fuck meth. It damages your brain permanently unlike the other drugs. Fuck.

My testosterone is incredibly low because my dopamine is fucked and I gained a lot of weight. That combination.

I’m trying to get into the ketogenic diet but sugar is worse than meth cravings now that I fucked my brain with meth

Not meth but booze. Been sober almost 16 months now. Was a daily drinker basically going through psychosis at the end. If you're just cold turkying without help, chances for you are slim anon. I know meth takes alot longer for your brain to heal from than other substances. I got involved in AA which helped me and still helps me alot. I know others in recovery from meth so it is doable. Best of luck to you

I've had great physical and mental success with ketogenic. Make sure to have a proper fat/protein ratio(70/30+) and test your ketones with ketone strips. If you have the will then a 2-3 day fast will get you into ketosis easy then you just need to ease back into eating properly ketogenic.

>It damages your brain permanently

While this is true, the "permanent" changes only occur in very high doses that become neural toxic due to the brain unable to uptake the excess dopamine. Those changes are only considered permanent because once a neuron dies, there is no reviving it, but that doesn't consider the brain's overall ability to adapt.

I wondered if anyone would catch this. Lol well done anon, to op don’t watch porn, eat as clean as you can, workout, you gotta get those pathways back to normal and if you saturate them again with shit like porn, mass sugar and bad food then it’s not gonna workout

>> No.18434989

after meth n coke use mostly daily for about 18 months (smoking both) it took 6-12 months to feel decent again afterwards, cravings lasted a while but I’ve had worse cravings from stopping gambling before that. So definitely not the worst but bad, my emotions still aren’t 100% right I feel pretty numb and my libido while improved is not 100%, dick works most the time now, still get sore joints and aches from time to time. Took a few months of lifting for it not to hurt or to not feel gassed out after 5 mins, the shit weakens your bones n joints

anon do you have any more advice from your studies? i started keto to counteract my stim abuse and it's helped. i've also been experimenting with lion's mane and things to help reduce inflammation like milk thistle, NA-Cysteine, NA-Carnitine, catecholamines. i'm not the most quantitative thinker so it's hard to put studies into a bigger context and consequently i'm just trying this shit at normal recommended doses and hoping it plays out. i think they have raised my baseline normal but i couldn't tell you why beyond "google sed its good for ur helth."
please advise anon

yeah, op the way your brain works is if it’s an easy hit of meth for the rush and Chems vs say doing an hour workout it’s gonna push you to take the easy, quick option . Same as when it comes to actually talking to a girl and getting laid vs just fapping, it’s gonna set you up to just wanna fap for that same rush. When you stop doing these things though it gives your brain no option but to work with you to get back to normal, cause it wants those “reward” chems

hey bro hope I can give you some help,

get good amount of sleep every night - little by little you'll get better

if you're in a marijuana med state or rec state get a good 1:1 thc to cbd tincture and use a little in the morning (not too much) and a bigger dose to help you sleep

eat a good diet with natural stuff: potatoes, milk, salmon, peppers, tomatoes and spinach

and at night eat a garlic glove and a little bit of peeled ginger

>>18434811 quit your job, and trust me on this. throw yourself into reading and exercise immediately. dont think about it, just do it everyday and stick to it. also, look into meditation. it sounds stupid but the easiest way to overcome addiction is throw yourself into meeting basic goals and consistently focusing on them. it makes it so your brain has less time to think about addiction, and your body is recovering at the same time.

>Was a daily drinker basically going through psychosis at the end.
same. i never took to meth, crack or smack particularly, booze was my poison. in fact i'm probably the most hopeless alcoholic on all of 4chan, 3 bottles of vodka daily was the norm towards the psychosis-strewn end. now i spend A LOT of money on weed instead (like £150/day) , and don't drink at all. everything heals. 2 years on, everything is cosier than i ever believed it'd be.

says who? because professor david nutt, world's foremost expert on drugs and chief advisor to the former british government on this subject, claims that only 1 in 5000 men are at risk of cannabis-related psychosis and 1 in 7500 women. i've been smoking on and off since 1995 and having been high every single second of every day for 2 years, everything continues to heal. there is absolutely nothing resembling the actual psychosis alcoholism imposed on me, there is only cosy.

I used to be a heavy smoker, nothings wrong with weed as long as the person growing it is reputable. From first hand experience 99.9% of marijuana has synthetic nutrients and horrible insecticides that can cause long term harm.

Either grow your own or buy medical grade

Also buy a volcano vaporizer if your spending $150 a day on weed - shit that thing will pay itself off for you in a week

good luck dude

>good luck
thanks man, all is getting better since i ditched the sauce. i might even turn a floor of my house into an amsterdam-style cafe in preparation for legalisation. feelsgoodman.

dude you should give alan watts a try. his perspective incorporates both far eastern and western approaches to metaphysics. takes a while before it 'clicks', and if this was /x/ not /biz/ i'd write an essay right now, but it is nothing short of life-changing imo.

actually incase anyone's interested, here's a thread i made on /x/ a few days ago. it's a bit intense but it legitimately changed me listening to watts.
