I was having this debate in another thread, but yeah if you buy at a "clear low" just on the zoomed-out chart, there is not a ton of downside. However, if things go your way, you could be doubling your money.
Of course that assumes you can live with your cash tied up, say, six months. But no, it's not a shit-tier financial product.
