McWageslave here. I'm considering taking a leave of absence from my shit job because I really don't want to get coofed on by some gross customer or coworker. I'm a shift leader so I have some pull and could get back on if I really needed to. I have enough saved to take care of myself for 3 months if needed. What should I do?

Leave file unemployment (say you got the virus) and live off of $4000 a month till it runs out. They’ll probably keep extending it too.

t. What my brothers doing

Are you guys going to get any sort of protective gear provided to you? I assume many of your coworkers have already got some of their own.

This, most fastfood slaves can probably actually attain a higher standard of living going on unemployment for a good chunk of the year

>Quit
>File Unemployment
>Stack Trump Bucks
>Focus on your passions
>Rework your resume
> Ride unemployment & Trump bucks until the market comes back

Also get all your bills deferred or lowered immediately. No one knows whats going to happen so I would try to work something out with your landlord to see if you can just pay a portion for now or get a massive discount, also rents will drop so maybe look into moving to a cheaper place if thats an option. This is a perfect opportunity for those with nothing to lose to try and better their situation.

Can you file unemployment if you quit, I thought that was only if you were laid off.

>> No.18288978

Quit, not worth risking it at McDonald's of all places.

Try to get hold of things that'll strengthen your immune system, zinc/vitamin C supplements, if you haven't already and a chest decongestant syrup. I doubt this thing will kill you, you're an active person and probably not elderly (although, if you are, just leave).

I'm a pizza guy and I basically did this because I have no confidence in management's ability to prevent the spread (I spend about as much time inside as on the road). I live with my father (who has diabetes and lung issues) and I'm fortunate enough that I don't have to pay rent so it wasn't the hardest decision. I just feel bad because so many other drivers have "quit" so fast and I barely gave them notice so they're going to be kind of fucked without me because they basically only had three drivers for the next week. I doubt I'm eligible for unemployment, but I can't respect myself holding out at a fucking pizza job because I feel bad for the people there when they should have closed anyway. Shit sucks.

Yeah. I don't know what the fuck I'm gonna to do make money now, though. I doubt they'll end up hiring me back and my degree is worthless to begin with so I might be fucked.

I'm looking into working on a fishing boat or oil rig or something lol. I have some skills but nothing that pays a dime.

Did you explain it was because you were looking out for your dad? They might be more understanding and willing to get you back once this is all over.

your life is less valuable than mine. Keep working wagie.

>> No.18290595

>>18290556
I did. However, there are people who chose to keep working there that also have someone like that at home and management can be kind of petty so I doubt that will reflect well on me. I'll essentially just be a low-priority rehire while there are already people calling in to apply for a job during this crisis lol. Trying to stay positive, hoping this will just give me a kick in the ass to get me to stop being a guy that works at a pizza place
