From last thread.

Cash will be fine for now, but once this calms down I am shorting the shit out of the dollar, long term.
It's not the amount of money the fed prints but rather the velocity of money. And once people realize they can go outside and consume and countries realize their currency hasn't collapsed the rug will be pulled out from underneath the USD suddenly. If it's sustained and significant aka "runaway inflation" then the fed may be forced to raise rates, but I fear Jerome is too much of a pussyfooted lacky of the White House to do this. Maybe I'm wrong, and he'll pull a Paul Volcker after people thought they markets are safe. Either way, the dollar will do some interesting things in the next 2 years.

You can't read financial statements. For fuck's sake you think TA works and the entire field of decision science churns out dissertations every other day highlighting their absolute dismay at the fact that brainlets ever consider using it. You have no idea what Dunning-Kruger is. You don't know what survivorship bias is. You are too fucking uneducated and stupid to comprehend how fucked you are.

I've been reading for days and I dont
understand options.

So if you think stock go up, you buy a call.
If you think it go down, you buy a put.

Buying a call lets you sell 100 shares for X price by X date. But how is that different from jut buying 100 shares and setting a limit sell?

How do you make money off a put if you have 100 shares of a stock thats going down?

Please help

No more pain meds, instead hourly checking in it might be every 3 or 4 hours. I don't bother to educate them on the treatment and illness, and I don't tell the doctors how to take care of them.
Likewise I think 3M needs a little socialism. Remove all government contracts, no more tax breaks, and 'find' some violations they committed and fine them accordingly. Everyone wants socialism until they get it. It's up to us to show them the light.

this was the story blog that posted. actually the more i look into it the more it seems like some fucking fraud for a pump and dump where someone profited from a pump and then the short. this shit seems fraudulent. the same site that wrote the hit piece wrote this shill piece touting how good of an investment it is literally the day before

https://seekingalpha.com/article/4335008-athersys-sees-4-million-share-insider-buy-from-partner-running-covidminus-19-ards-trial-in

https://seekingalpha.com/article/4335664-dont-believe-athersys-hype-in-ards

so what the fuck, they literally shill the stock then trash it the next day. it seems pretty sketchy. but ATHX released a statement pic related. and its linked right on their own company website where you can also find all the trials data and info on the stem drug. i found the clip where the CEO went on fox news, here you go:

im still pretty convinced about it being legit but now you guys have me doubting myself so i dont know, if there isnt news about it soon ill just cut my $600 losses and sell. for new guys jumping it the stock isnt priced too much higher than it normally is before this hype so your losses probably wouldnt be as dramatic as mine, i bought halfway into the pump yesterday around $3.30 i think

HODL, no seriously, pharma bro here, the data released is very encouraging and unless the execs of that company commited straight up fraud (which I find hard to believe, why would they quit McKinsey, and Pharma Megacaps to commit fraud for probably less than the stock packages they got at their previous company) this has potential. Now no one can 100% predict a trial readout but the upside (>12$ per share) is worth the risk IMHO. And also you get to f*ck the short sellers who are taking idiotic risks on this (I would have rather shorter IO biotech or immunosuppressant drug trials that are going to read out much later due to this crisis)

to add, this is what pushed me to buy in, or my reasoning for there being promise here:

just think about it logically, their partner company in japan exercised the right to buy 7 million dollars worth of shares just a few days ago. that strikes me as pretty bullish. the japanese partner company has been sitting on this "right to buy" contract for 2 years, and they just now exercise it. in this climate with corona and economic uncertainty? they just drop 7 million to buy the max amount of company shares they were entitled to? thats all public record. so i think theres something here. it might be a gem, it might not, i dont think it will be an overnight get rich quick scheme but maybe in a month or so this treatment might become really profitable. well i dont know, i dont want to convince people one way or the other because you guys will blame me if you lose all your shit and id feel bad about making other poorfags lose money. im not an economist im a NEET trying to make money with about $5,000 of savings. i think the surest bet would be to get berk.b and call it a day with the bulk of your money, thats what i plan to do. let daddy buffet take care of me. although i did buy 1 share of meme TSLA yesterday for $476 lmao.

news is the best way to make money i dont know why you would shit on it. and all the other fake news channels dont air the Trump/Pence corona conferences. ive already made money by getting the tip off when reporters ask shit and Pence name drops a company like Quest diagnostics or Roche. and i get a feel for what hes going to do. i listened to him talk about the bailouts, for the airlines, and literally say twice "we cant let a company like boeing fail, we just cant". so i fucking knew right then to jump into boeing before the stimulus package and it paid off big time. you want to have a principled tantrum and willfully stick your head in the sand like an immature crybaby lib because you dont like the president, thats your prerogative. but its costing you money. keep MSNBC blaring and continue to hear nothing but echo chamber orange man bad.

yeah i mean im no pharmacist but i took bio in uni and understand the scientific method. so unless the data is forged it seems like the treatment works. the question then becomes how to bring to market, and whether it will be first, or chosen over other competitors as a preferred treatment. i just dont know, but they seem to not have any issues with bad side effects. and its a niche which has no other solutions currently in the market and its not just a "corona" specific cure, since ARDS has always been a pathology before covid19. they claim to have the current capability to mass scale production. most biopharm is scary to me, i havent invested in any others because of the time and uncertainty involved, except for a $50 gamble i stupidly threw at ONTX, which is on the long hold for an ultra niche low demand but very specific cancer drug that sortof works in some cases but not that well, and at best might turn into $100 next year lol. trust me i know the smart investments are blue chips and established funds that hold blue chips. this is my gambling money and im just enjoying the volatility of the stock market which is so extreme right now its probably a once in a lifetime event

Yes, but don't bother with anything other than XOM, CVX, BP, RDS.B, etc. All this constant memeing about shale companies or GUSH in this general is shitcoining. It doesn't matter if "oil comes back" in months (or more likely, years) those companies will be dead. They are overloaded with debt and required high margins from $60+/barrel to make it all work. An economic slump and a price war deliberately targeted at them is going to kill them all. Their debt is more worthwhile to own than their stock.

With stupid high volatility and a weekend coming up all of the volume will be in first 5 minutes and last 30. Don't even need to bother looking at tickers in between because that is just noise
The only question is if you expect a dump at the EOD. If you do, buy Monday. If you don't buy in the morning around lunch.

interesting, anecdotal (worthless) information between spain/italy and say germany. Spain and Italy actually shut down everything pretty well but had bigger increases in residential traveling.

Maybe it was friends/family all visiting each other during the shut down in Italy/Spain that kept things spreading.

I am very concerned about any company that doesn't have a solid balance sheet right now, and don't know too much about analyzing them, but I know JNJ's sheet is rated AAA, as is Microsoft.

Nike, I don't know what the new world is going to look like. I can see the demand for things like basketball shoes and other athletic gear dropping until people are comfortable with the virus situation. That could take a long time.

The other one to add in would probably be VZ.

JNJ has stated they are working on the vaccine on a not-for-profit basis.

I've only heard of some of those but I don't remember why. I just removed Incyte from my watch list yesterday because I forgot why I put them on there.

I will have to look into those a bit. You prefer PFE and BMY over MRK?

Absolutely savage bants there. The semi-cordial tone he goes for in this letter has a sharper sting than his usual twitter posts.

I am long Incyte due to information I cannot share - but check out the PV/MF market and a number of skin conditions.

Merck was extremely lucky with their pipeline and Keytruda especially so I wouldnt buy them “at the top”. BMS and PFE are hungrier to catch up and refresh their biz IMO

Hmmm... interesting opinions, I will do more research.

I think part of my interest in incyte was to do with Baker Bros building a position. I really wish I could remember. Is there anything you can share about the rest of them?

Correct. Since once it advances its an immune disorder you are dealing with, not a viral one.
