Cash will be fine for now, but once this calms down I am shorting the shit out of the dollar, long term.
It's not the amount of money the fed prints but rather the velocity of money. And once people realize they can go outside and consume and countries realize their currency hasn't collapsed the rug will be pulled out from underneath the USD suddenly. If it's sustained and significant aka "runaway inflation" then the fed may be forced to raise rates, but I fear Jerome is too much of a pussyfooted lacky of the White House to do this. Maybe I'm wrong, and he'll pull a Paul Volcker after people thought they markets are safe. Either way, the dollar will do some interesting things in the next 2 years.

I've been reading for days and I dont
understand options.

So if you think stock go up, you buy a call.
If you think it go down, you buy a put.

Buying a call lets you sell 100 shares for X price by X date. But how is that different from jut buying 100 shares and setting a limit sell?

How do you make money off a put if you have 100 shares of a stock thats going down?

Buying options is for leverage. You don't own the stock in reality, you simply own an agreement that says you can buy or sell said stock.

I'll be honest I haven't looked at the bigboys in particular. But however good or bad they may be they are still going to be orders of magnitude better than all these shale companies. If all those guys go under I am sure the entire US/Canda/Mexico oil industry is in flames so you would have lost putting money anywhere.
There is the benefit though that they have a product that will be back in demand and has recovered multiple times in the past. I am currently avoiding anything that has most of their retail space in malls. I think malls are going to get blockbuster'd. not him but i honestly think JNJ stands a good chance to come out with big profits from corona vaccine going forward next year. plus they are a pretty safe blue chip because they are into everything, not just pharma. and they have factories and sell all over the world. i would feel good about owning JNJ. if i had more money there are so many things i would love to own but its hard to spread a small stack around into everything you want to dabble with. on top of this i want a small bit of physical silver/gold so its hard to see all these great buying opportunities right now but not have the dosh to act on it

These are all solid picks. BMS, JNJ and Pfizer are good buy and hold / dividend stocks. Apart from moderna, I tend to buy non covid related stocks at the moment looking at the long term. I do think in 2-4 weeks (when the NASDAQ sets up for another dive) you will get them at an even better price.

I am long Incyte due to information I cannot share - but check out the PV/MF market and a number of skin conditions.

Merck was extremely lucky with their pipeline and Keytruda especially so I wouldnt buy them “at the top”. BMS and PFE are hungrier to catch up and refresh their biz IMO
