This is why people hedge rather than drop positions these days. HFTs do in fact get confused. If you open a short call position and they start moving price towards it and you start buying and buying and buying the underlying and they decide to then go after your long position on the underlying you then SLAM the short call position and start dumping your shares so you both you and the HFTs are now selling price away from your short calls. You can see steam shooting out of the price when you do shit like that and if you're really good you can keep it up all day and then you start getting phone calls and your broker starts to basically audit you and claim you need to pay more in monthly fees because you have the performance and market activity of a professional and you're currently flagged as a non-professional. It's fucking hilarious how horrible the markets and the entire industry is but it's exploitable.

It was Jerome. and he brought the cure all to the market. It was a briefcase that was bigger on the inside, and he slammed it onto the table, dabbed off the beads on his forehead, and unlocked the case.

It exploded releasing mountains and mountains of $100 bills pouring out and stacking into tall towers that continued violent erupting. Green light so bright it eclipsed the entire sun was shooting blinding beams into the sky. I knew then what I must do, I must ride this bull rocketship to the moon.
