So that they can control the market with increasing effortlessness. They use their stack to send the price up, or down, and in either situations they make more BTC. Ever increasing stack gives them ever increasing control, while simpletons like yourself pump new money into a manipulated market in which predominantly whales are the winners. They can and do cash out into USD/Yuan/Euro at their leisure.

You are comparing multi-quadrillions dispersed among many to a handful of billions (if even that, once you remove washtrading) dispersed among the very few. >sideways tail turn
I always forget that humpbacks can do that so well. It's terrifying because mammals in the sea (whales, dolphins, seals, sea lions, etc) have their tails move up and down due to evolving from the pelvis like all other mammals have. Fish on the other hand, like sharks, have their tails move side to side. So when you see a giant sea creature move its tail side to side you know it's not a whale, it's a giant fucking shark. Humpbacks can impersonate it better than most though so they just occasionally make someone shit their pants.

because there was never any pressing need where people could afford it. what bitcoin needs is a need for adoption not technical development. the truth is it's not convenient for legal business to accept bitcoin. and this is not about the fees or anything that's bullshit. this is about legality accounting and volatility.
99% of the business accepting bitcoin sells it immediately for usd via a payment provider. that's not adoption.

honest people at large do not need unconfiscateability. only refugees do and refugees had no access to bitcoin before and or couldn't afford it. just wait until a country like italy implodes... a developed country going belly up and full fascist with hyperinflation and dropping standard of living. first of all the italians that move early will be able to save some of their wealth in bitcoin. second the other developed countries population will see what happens and finally realize that it's not just shitholes like venezuela. it can happen to them any time.
if this does not bring bitcoin to the masses nothing ever will time to pack up and leave crypto the fuck alone.

one could also say unless your own government turns on you you will never ever need bitcoin for anything. and this is crucial. bitcoin exists outside of the legal framework. which means only criminals truly benefit from it. but criminals are relative and law is local. you may be a victim of oppression branded criminal by a certain country (say gold bans and confiscations is a good example latest was in india if i remember correctly.) but outside of it just an average joe.

if you are made a criminal by a system that failed you then you will find bitcoin a safe haven for your wealth on the run.

inflation? pfeh. inflation is not evil and there are billions of assets and derivatives that hedge against inflation. sure enough the fractional reserve games we re witnessing are a giant money pump sucking wealth from the poor to the rich from the impatient to the patient. but so is bitcoin. bitcoin is no different than stocks in price action it's only different in being unbacked unconfiscateable trustless and permissionless to transact secure which you don't really need in a working and functional legal system.
