before the fed turned on their infinite money press, hypothetically assuming if,

>$1 usd = $1
and
>1 bitcoin = $6200

then the fed printed 3x the total circulating supply of the dollar wouldn't...

>$1 usd now = $3
and
>1 bitcoin = $18600

to adjust for inflation

Money isn't real. Stop thinking about it.

consider the real price of bitcoin (without finex tether pump which started in 2015) is around $200-$300
$6k is still a healthy 7x premium over what bitcoin should be worth in your scenario

How does a dollar value increase when printed more? Shouldn't it decrease instead?

You're assuming that in the post 3x money supply increase scenario, that the demand for BTC stays static. You're not necessarily wrong, but there could be significant fluctuations either way.

shouldn't be $1 usd = $0.33 ? if you increase supply you decrease the value of the currency. Am i missing something?

Money is like any other commodity. If for some reason it started raining gold stones from the skies, what would happen to the price of gold? It is the same with the dollar, except it is printed instead.

How fucking retarded are you? Please leave and never come back. Holy shit.

it doesn't decrease, it dilutes. looking back on history, what was 15c back in the 20s is now a few dollars or so today. so the devaluation is still the same. they aren't giving you less dollars, they are giving you more dollars worth less.

>>18148839
true, assuming it stays the same. or...presumably if the supply/demand ratio stays constant after the halving, that demand should increase due to less supply and while hashrate continues increasing(yes there are dips) there's no reason to believe it'll change otherwise

another interesting tidbit is by the fed printing this much, it forced countries all over the world to do the same thing since they're all leveraged into each other's currency through debt. and since bitcoin is a boundless, global currency it all funnels together there.
