I have 10oz of gold and 20k in gold miners (Newcrest, SLR, some funds like NUGT lol).

Can someone give me a quick rundown on what the fuck China is attempting to do by buying ridiuclous amounts of gold from all over the world (especially Australia) and producing the most gold in the world right now, while only reporting 1,500 tonnes in reserves.

What happens if USD hyper inflates and China decides to peg a new currency (China Dollar?) to their gold reserves? If (when) gold moons, won't China (and also places like India, Russia, Turkey) who have insane amounts of private wealth in gold be rich as fuck?

I know I sound schizo-thread tier right now but I feel like i'm clutching out straws trying to figure the links between all of this out and surely one of you PMG bros will be able to run me through it.

I.e.

$20 USD weekly salary in 1910
$20 USD spot price per oz for gold 1910.

$20 USD is worthless in 2020.
1oz gold is still worth 1 weeks salary in 2020 (roughly?).

But all that means is gold wasn't impacted by inflation and performed horribly. If you could choose to be paid in USD, gold or SPY500 in 1910, SPY500 would perform the best.

So is the USA moving away from gold (and oy vey moving towards diamonds) as a cultural sign of wealth because they are scared of how much gold the rest of the world has???

And if the USD and the army and companies behind it can no longer afford to buy shit from Chinese factories because the USD inflates and China pegs to gold, isn't the US royally fucked? Entire world economy prices EVERYTHING (bonds, equities, gold, their own currency) against the 'yardstick of value' which is the purchase price parity dollar value index of the USD.

But that's only because they stopped measuring value against gold.
