A big fear that I believe people are not paying enough close attention to are securities in the form of housing and how they were being used in lieu of their current plummet right now.

>realtor companies amass thousands of housing, renting units via purchasing as securities
>said investment is propagated into purchasing even more real estate
>securities have crashed and plummeted with everything else
>most real estate and boomers usually do not have enough income to stay afloat as most of that was used to continue their investment cycle, will likely try to force rent and mortgage payments ASAP
>a moratorium will likely make all of these go belly-up and a lot will forcibly shutter even with bailouts
>housing market tanks harder than in 2008

why is it important that the stocks dont continue falling?

the issue is that economy is halted because of the pandemic, the stock prices are just a secondary consequence off that. When the pandemic is over, and the production continues, stocks will naturally return to normal, so why these measures to make stock numbers stay up irrelevant of the fact that economy is halted?

The main issue with housing is that most of its costs are rooted not in construction, but zoning, proximity, and the land it occupies. Generally speaking, housing costs are heavily based on the following:
>how much land is allocated (acreage?)
>how economically relevant the land is (in a city? middle of a desert?)
>what is the property to be defined as (farm? apartment complex? private residence?)
>what kind of safety requirements are needed (earthquake zone? tornadoes / hurricanes? flooding?)
>actual cost of construction w/ labor (concrete? wood? etc.)

Construction has never been the main issue itself. If you've ever been to Texas, you would see that most homes getting propped up are usually in the range of $100k to $300k, but construction is practically autonomous since obtaining all the permissions and the land itself is very cheap and easy because of little bureaucratic overhead. The land itself is cheap in a sparsely populated area, there's not much zoning to think about, and construction only requires materials + paying your workers for labor, so you can just make up a profit margin's that competitive locally and move it along. Even if revolutions were to come around (which already has in the form of box houses and prefabs), prices are generally fixed in despite this because of older housing and population density keeping the market steady. Houses are closely fixed to how the markets are doing as a result, which is why they can be used so readily as securities since they form the chief backbone of employment.

>>18035077
I remember quite a few people saying that back in 2007, but it took a few years for the housing market to collapse entirely. The issue then was that people were laid off and couldn't buy into these prices, and we're looking at a worse repeat of that. Pay close attention to the Case-Shiller indexes when they come around.

also that look, idk why that look does it for me, but here we are. the face and something about the short ponytail thing and hair color, idk. and the voice. idk man, idk.

the point still stands, stop losses only work intraday, this is objective fact.

>How is that going to stop you from locking in losses?

it doesn't. losing is part of the game, if you've been trading for any period of time even holding overnight, you should know this. it's a numbers game. you don't have to be right, you just have to be profitable. at the most basic level, you could have a 1:1 risk:reward and be profitable if you can do better than a coinflip (50/50), if you have a 1:2 risk:reward you only need better than 33% to be profitable. you develop a system that allows you to do this consistently with as high of a winrate as possible, which im not going to spoonfeed you.

you overnighters are doing the same thing as i am, you're just taking a lot longer to find out whether you won or lost and get fucked harder by gapping.
