Is there a decent stock ticker for Windows? I can only find half-assed google spreadsheets and 3-year old apps :T

Windows had shit like that in Win7 (or maybe Vista, I don't recall) but removed all of them because they ended up being a big security vulnerability.
CPU/GPU/Motherboard temp sensors are self-contained and don't have to connect to any external data source.
Just use a browser pointed to a website with the stocks you want.
