Yeah iktf. Just another missed opportunity. It wouldn't bother me except for the fact that I hang out on /biz/ all day. It was all obvious but there were too many shitcoin threads.

>> No.17934103

bro and I wanted to short it, but I was born in a shit tier country with no access to US markets

>> No.17934208

And you could have turned 150k into zero by shorting the stock market on the wrong day.

That's a bit like saying you could have made millions by knowing the lottery numbers in advance. Hindsight is always 20/20. Just make the best decison in the moment, given the information you have available at the time and stop having regrets. The only reliable long-term strategy is using skill and reason, not happening to get lucky with a decision that was borderline unreasonable at the time.

Your problem is not that you didn't short the market weeks ago. Your problem is that you have a garbage mindset. You're never going to make it unless you change that. The more you're stuck to hindsight and regrets, the more likely it is you will blow your money some day out of FOMO.

Yea I'm still wondering if I should open an account and put a small amount in that I won't mind losing either way
Although >>17934208 is true, if you didn't already profit shorting the market and made your meme amount you weren't ready to do so and if you rush to dump all of your money into the market, more likely than not it will be reduced to a single zero.

>thinking about stock market "could haves"
>If I only knew to buy X at such-and-such time and sell it at such-and-such time I'd be a millionaire.

Yeah well if I could see into the future like that, I'd just win the lottery and be done with it.

Don't feel bad about the money you "could have" made but didn't.

>invested $100k into ETFs last month
>pulled $85k out (what was left) 2 weeks ago
>could have just picked literally any company and gamble $15k in puts for the same result or massive gains (probably the latter)
I'm going to lose everything trying to make back what I lost

Or you could take a step back and calm down. You've made the decision to buy 100k worth of ETFs last month. I'll assume you thought the price was fair at the time, otherwise you wouldn't have bought in. Now you have 15% less cash, but the ETF is likely down 30-35%, meaning if you buy in now with your remaining cash, you'll get substantially more shares than you had bought last month.

There's nothing to "make back" that is under your control. You're already ~15% ahead than if you had just bought last month and held (which you were fine with at the time). The rest is up to market recovery and surely you didn't buy ETFs thinking they would only ever go up, right? Especially after the bonkers +15% ralley during 2019.

You've made a long-term investment last month. Stick to it. Beyond that analyze your decision making, see what presumptions and models you had in your head that maybe lead you down a sub-optimal path. Improve for next time. But there is no point in freaking out about what you did, especially when you did good damage control and are now beating the market by more than 15%.

You just couldn't predict this all. Remember, OP: This market is already owned and completely manipulated by the big ones.

Were not at the bottom yet but it’s getting more risky by the day to short. Spend the next month studying how to trade options and then go long when we’ve bottomed out. A 10x is easily doable with a couple big call options in a bull market.

If you can perfectly predict the market, you can make millions in any given day given the right strategy. Don't kid yourself.
