Here's a quick guide for you and any others who want to get a cheap AR:
You buy what's called a "Stripped Lower". That is the only part that requires a background check. Doing this locally is probably easiest.

Buy what's called a "Lower Parts Kit" which is basically just a bunch of parts you jam into the lower to make it work. Guide:

Then you buy a "Complete Upper". It's possible to build this by hand too but if you're a complete newfag it's kind of hard. This can be shipped online and doesn't need a background check.
