the best part is how easy it is to wash it clean
> print USDT
> send to exchange
> buy any crypto ( pump the price in the process )
> send it to a fiat exchange
> sell the crypto
> get real USD
it's like the perfect scam, the hard part was earning this market's trust luckily this market is retarded

because it make no sense to do so
there's enough OTC counter for anyone with that much money to buy, and there's direct fiat pairs on several exchanges
also Tether has a history of evading audits and last year had to admit at at least 30 of the then 2.5B was not backed by anything ie; can't be trusted
you would have to be completely stupid to give fine millions in exchange for tether to just to buy crypto when you can just go to coinbase, bitstamp, kraken, etc and do the same directly

Pretty much the same as the Fed, except Tether has 70% of their digital currency backed by physical dollars, compared to the Fed and other banks 0%(used to be 10%) “fractional” reserve. In a way, that makes Tether a more real currency than the US dollar itself. Clown world is real.

that 70% is a lie for god sake
when tether was ~ 2.5B mc they were forced to admit losing 800M of backing, 800 of 2.5 = ~30%
that's where this number comes from, BUT THEY NEVER PROVED THAT THEY HAD THE REMAINING 70%
this stupid market just believed them even right after they were caught lying because this market cannot survive without tether
