Trump fucked up the response and was too stupid to prepare so the economy is shutting down snd the markets are reacting accordingly. We aren’t even testing people because the president disbanded the pandemic response team and was calling it a hoax instead of funding test production so now hospitals are flying blind snd rationing tests. The administration was also running a high deficit and not bothering with any normal economic safe guards to help fuel enough of a boom to help re-elect the president which made the whole thing precarious and overdue for a correction which is increasing the severity of this crash.

Actions have consequences and this is the situation that was created though incompetence.

Virus will fuck shit up and as soon as that's cured and done, hyperinflation, thanks to Trump's and the feds severe autism. This is the big one.

It’s an actual Happening and I am ashamed to say I didn’t get ready.

I kinda have enough food but I will only be able to prepare $800 or so of stacked metal. Better get my knee pads on.

This will be the worst thing that has happened in the history of mankind. The dollar and all other currencies on earth will be completely destroyed by inflation. The market will crash to 2009 lows and keep falling. There will be food shortages, massive civil unrest and another major world war. God will unleash his wrath upon the earth after the introduction of a new world currency, and everything you know as your life now will be unrecognizable. Is it happening? No, it hasn't even begun. Cap this.

right I get that. but wouldn't this also allow them to borrow and lend money infinitely without worry about the issue of illiquidity later? it seems like the fed could just keep printing money, banks borrowing it and lending bad debt until this devalues the USD greatly. Or maybe I'm looking at this wrong.

>worst than the 1929 stock crash
Not yet. So far only 1 circuit breaker has been hit and that's the -7% one.
For it to be as bad as the stock crash it needs to hit the -7%, -13%, and finally the 20% breaker.
If it hits the -20% breaker you can pretty much guarantee most publicly traded businesses will go under and you will lose your job.
What I'm saying is that you know all those 401ks, pensions, roth iras, etc? All of that will be wiped out by 50% and most will be wiped out by 75%.
You will see people nearing retirement consider suicide. This is a very real thing and it's no joke. If you are young or have no retirement then nothing will change for you unless you have a non-STEM job.
From what my company sees, there will be a reduction of 30% after CoronaVirus ends. Right now they can't lay anyone off because you can sue them if you contract the virus.

We don't know yet.
The question is how long it lasts, and how long it'll be until viable medications - both cure and vaccine - are in human testing, and how effective government imposed restrictions are at containing the virus, and if they're not, how bad absenteeism will be.
A few good news could turn this thing around by next week, but likely they won't come.

It's not for the DOW. I don't see the S&P reaching that low. It hit 11.98%, at close, but was heading down. I disagree with the prediction that markets open green tomorrow. I think in 5 hours (2 hours before open) people will wake up and make more decisions to sell before open.
