I'm almost 19 and my parents said there going to kick me out if I don't have a job after I graduate high school this year. They said they will give me 75 days to get a job after I graduate. I told them that I'm going to be a crypto day trader but they say thats not a real job and it can't make real money.

I still plan on getting a job so I can get money to start day trading crypto but I eventually want to quit and day trade full time while saving money living at home. How can I prove to them that day trading crypto is a real job and you can make real money from it? It's bullshit. They think cryptocurrency is a video game and a waste of time.

You prove yourself by making enough off it to pay for rent, bills, groceries, etc.

You have until 75 days after you graduate to git gud.

Good luck.

Shut up and get a job. Get yourself a place to live, pay the costs and live minimalist. Spend the rest of your paycheck in projects you have researched for months and simply accumulate. Your parents are right: the fancy 'muhh daytrader' is a meme, you are going to lose your money as a degenerate on Bitmex ending up on the streets again.

It is. Funny thing with people on here with the sanctimonious "real job" rubbish, I have to wonder how they have time to respond to 4chan threads in between carrying the global economy on shoulders of their productivity. No CV check threads, no job advice threads, just fluff.

Fuck off, normalfags.

you can't, you are eventually gonna hit a brick wall once you start losing money but still need to pay bills. crypto has no intrinsic value, it's basically gambling. being a /NEET/ who trades crypto isn't a real job

kek OP, i am in the same situation.. 23 fresh grad.. spend 4 months learning about backtesting to trade link on 3min.. developed some strats and present to my parents which have >80% profitable trades even in downtrend or uptrend.. they still want me to get a job..

I have until April to find one, but idgaf i am programming my bot now.. if it fails who gives a shit.. i dont want to live on this Earth anyway.. I didn't asked to be alive but they want a son, yet they blame me for everything.. if anything I should blame them for not going to parenting 101 or exposing me to different sectors of knowledge so I can equipped myself better for the future.. now I wish they are dead so i can take the inheritance money to put into linkies..

Well then please let me explain how Link/smartcontracts.com has broken AML, CFC & series funding regs.
AML - No KYC
CFC - Link is a US corporation, the CEO is a US resident
Series funding - It was an ICO
The future liabilities are going to be large...

I worked as a Firefighter-Paramedic and day traded between calls on my phone. Now I have a comfy at home job and spend more time swinging shitcoins and stonks than I actually do working.

If you were my kid, I would probably let you stay at home and save as much as you could, because I came of age during the 2008 crisis and know how difficult it is out there still. That said, your parents are from another generation and don't know.

My suggestion is to get a real job, don't tell anybody about crypto until you make it and lie, lie, lie on your resume unless you're applying to a government or medical/legal/could kill someone position.

>dude it's so easy, it's not even REAL work
The only criticisms for trading are that it's unproductive (which opens up up philosophical discussion about what "work" actually is) and it attracts lazy, stupid people. The way you say nonsense like "daytrading on my phone" makes me think full shit.

most based parents of all time.. i will do the same too.. exposed my kids to the world of finance. tell them it's okay to not have a job. wage/salary is what makes your brain turn off anyway. tell them to study about money, how they move, who move them, move to where, when they were move, when they will arrive, what happen when they arrived (could be war, hyperinflation, recession, etc.).. i am going to equipped my kids with these knowledge and will try to answer every question they have..

unlike my parents, whenever i asked "dad why is x equals to y?", their ego is so high that they just won't say "sorry son, i dont know, you have to figure it out yourself" but they just said "when you are older, you will know now go play".. Yeah I know, but it is too late and if only you exposed me earlier I couldve prepared for whats coming

can't count the number of times my dad has said similar to me
now I just stay in my room with my door locked all day, only going to the kitchen for some food and to the bathroom at night or during the day when parents are at work
he certainly hasn't followed through on his threat in any meaningful way, he'd have to call the police I guess
oh well, I never asked to be born

survivorship bias.. you only learn/heard stories about who failed daytrading using phone but you never heard of stories about who succeed daytrading using phone

because why would they tell the public? that will just increase the competition. plus thats why lots of /biz/raelis dont tell their normie friends or families about their crypto. secrecy is the key to success.

I stupidly told my one group of friends about my crypto. As I learn and I know better I told them that I quit cause I lost all of my capital (while I am not), this is just to stop them from asking me about my crypto in the future.

But if the news suddenly pushing the crypto meme and my friends went "anon! did u check out the price of BTC? HOLY SHIT you shouldnt sell bro!!", i will just agree with them and gone apeshit to fool them..

those failed stories? yea dont believe them..

It's not easy and requires a lot of patience and time, especially if you're dropping serious amounts of money per trade.

Believe me, I'm not someone who thinks trading is gambling/impossible, and all that rubbish. If I fail at something, it is my incompetence, not impossibility of a goal.

I think you could definitely swing trade using a phone, but day trade on your phone profitably during downtime at work? I just find that hard to believe.

Fucking around with lunch money would make me wonder how much better off you'd be just getting some low level job, saving toward a proper trading account, demotrading all the while in between.
