what the hell is keeping iota, xlm or xrp up? All three are worth zero. Almost everything on cmc is worthless.
All these share great marketing and tiny float - 10 million link is actively traded at most. This results in a >100x multiplier of money inflow to market cap.

Link's marketing (token marketing to buyers) is really something else.
It's 2020, in almost three years link only managed to clone the makerdao feed design - several nodes chosen by one entity, something that could be done by one dev for $2k. Tokens have negative yield as these nodes are constantly paid with new link, diluting the stake of existing holders. Somehow they managed the same trick iota did, which is to spin failures into a reason to pump the token.
They even paid the zionist that owns the cmc (it's true - look up "beitar coinmarketcap") to hide the inflated supply - is it 400M already?

The alternative explanation is that it's money laundering - ie. that almost all ico tokens were bought by chainlink directly (circumstantial evidence: ico sale counter on the page that increased with time in js, not even bothering to check real statistics + almost complete lack of ico marketing + big initial buy required (was that 500 eth?)).
Now they buy these tokens from themselves with dirty crypto money, generating clean profits. They don't care about ~5% of link owned by other people - it's useful as cover.

I think it's 80% chance it's money laundering and 20% chance it's just the best marketing in crypto.

There's nothing special in 21 chosen nodes, it's trivial to copy by someone else if there's ever any actual demand, all you need are 21 people.

>there's so many autist on this board who bought +50k link back in 2017 with changes from their btc/eth gains

Your perception of OG LINK holders is waaaay off. I’m a 2017/2018 buyer who browsed daily in late 2018/all of 2018 and the majority of biz autists who accumulated and went all in on LINK like me during 2018 are just normal autists - NOT early ETH/BTC buyers. I recall only a handful of anons claiming to be early ETH buyers now moving to LINK. Like less than 5. I also recall a lot of research into the largest LINK wallets and we discovered that wallets with more than, say, 200,000 LINK were often buying with ETH they accumulated early on (to any newfags, you can trace all these transactions and view them easily on ethplorer etc.).

The fact of the matter is, 10k was established as the minimum “make it” stack, and those without the ability to get 10k link either from their bullrun shitcoin gains or from their savings spent most of 2018 accumulating. The idea that 10k+ wallets are larps, or even mythical early ETH buyers, is crazy. Accumulating a 10k stack while LINK was under 60c only cost like $1500-$5000, and I know many anons were buying each payday. You’re also forgetting that there were so many random shitcoins that could pump a $400 investment to $4000 overnight, so people had residual gains to dump into LINK at the end of the last bullrun.

The final thing to consider is that we had weekly breadcrumb research and weaponised autism threads, which uncovered all the potential connections between link, Sergey, various developers and the big names like Facebook, IBM, Microsoft, Docusign and more. This was enough hopeium, in enough frequency, to really encourage us to accumulate at least 10k link.

I didn’t realise I would be considered a larp with my pathetic 15k stack so quickly... I was expecting to wait at least 5 years.

Tl;dr the majority of OG linkies on biz weren’t early ETH or BTC buyers.

Yep, I agree. If anons just arrived to biz and actually have some understanding of link’s potential, they still have time to buy. A 1000-5000 LINK stack may still be enough to make it -IF- they are able to hold, and smart enough to set up a node, or get in early on Linkpool by buying LP shares.
Personally I stopped accumulating at $1, but when LINK hit $50, anons who bought at $4 will still be gleefully frogposting along with us OGs.

you only have to explore wallets to see that there are around 10-20k wallets that have held for like 12 months or longer. These are the anons I am talking about, like myself, who were buying throughout 2018 and have participated in the research and autism enough to have no desire to sell until link reaches its full potential.
If this isn’t a larp, I feel sorry for you. Instead of feeling jealous and embarrassing yourself with these posts, why don’t you do what oatmeal anon did, start cutting back on food and other expenses and sell your possessions on eBay. Start accumulating LINK now and you can still get 1000-5000 LINK before we hit double digits and you’re truly priced out.

Unfortunately, I am a retard, son of retards. I watched BTC go up from 0 to 20k, ETH go up from $0.50 to $1200, and I saw the original LINK "time to go gem hunting" posts but didn't buy because I was egotistically attached to shitcoins. I only bought after the Coinbase pump when I realized that all the memes are true and LINK really is going to $1000. Since then I have thrown at least $100k into LINK and have several make it stacks now.

In 2018, I honestly thought we would be waiting at least 5 years before getting this far, I thought we would perhaps be waiting for mainstream smartcontract adoption in like 2025. But things have progressed much faster and the reason for that is that we’ve had some pretty crazy revelations like Google etc. Integrating Chainlink. Along with basically every other company that wants to stay relevant.

Based on that fact, I think there are three things that will push us to $10-$25.
1) we hit double digits at a minimum when staking is possible. If coinbase also enables staking, that’ll perhaps double the pump from a basic staking announcement, and staking adoption.
No one knows when staking will arrive, but I have seen estimates for the end of this year or next year.
2) The other thing that could push us to double digits is bitcoin surpassing its previous ATH.
3) the final event that could push us to double digits is some unforeseen announcement at smartcon in May. If Microsoft, IBM or some other major corporation makes any statements about integrating Chainlink, expect a serious pump.

The most exciting thing is 2 or 3 of these events may happen at the same time, or in quick succession. Imagine if there’s some kind of crazy happening at smartcon, in May, when bitcoin starts fucking taking off. Then imagine staking is announced shortly after. Or imagine bitcoin doesn’t start taking off until late 2020 but at the same time as staking.

If I only just arrived to biz and found out about LINK I could imagine feeling hopeless and disheartened that 10k link feels out of reach... but what nulinkers fail to understand is that throughout 2018, even those of us who accumulated 10k or more LINK *still* felt anxiety that it wasn’t enough...
this isn’t me shilling to get you to buy my bags. Adoption and network usage is what will drive major price increases and none of that requires fomo buying and shilling.

There are already 20-somethibg node operators and the mainstream data providers (news and weather agencies, stock exchanges, insurance companies) have not even begun to enter the market. I accumulated 22k from late 2017 to Linktober in 2018 and never thought that this would be considered a "big stack" for another few years at least. I was a student at the time and was tough to grind to that amount but there were/are many here with 50k and 100k stacks. Certainly, anyone on this board regularly in the latter half of 2018 will have at least a suicide stack. The idea that biz collectively holds 1% (3.5m LINK) is ridiclous - I would estimate at least 10%.

From late 2018/early 2019, people started to move away from /biz/ with a notable few going to Twitter to start spreading the word. The Crypto_Oracle was central to this and has written a lot of good material. finrekt too did well by shilling Wolpert into talking to Sergey. He does have an ego and a half though.

Before mainnet there were farewell threads here, as anons rightly predicted that the board would be flooded with normies from Reddit wondering how we knew. Board has been shit since but worth coming by time to time when it pumps or there's a notable integration. Many are in "secret" Discord and Telegram groups but keep an eye on here.

i specifically used the term arbitration and not the term arbitrage that only is used in financial context.
what is non financial arbitrage that is known today?

you go to the doctor. you tell him you have a flu and dont feel well. he knows you and writes you a sick leave. you dont have to appear at work for the next 7 days. you used 1) the loophole that sickness is a vague defined term that can be stretched generously, 2) you arbitraged your personal connection knowing your doc for years, and he is willing to feed into your narrative that you are actually sick, because he is your friend.

this things are all still possible because everything in society is still governed in a centralized, bureocratic fashion. In contrast an AI system that uses machine learning and algorithms to intepret the data that your body gives it could feed your data securely in a smart contract that for one transmit your boss your accurate pysical condition and at the same time stop your salary pay out that is already paid out in 10 seconds intervals (openlaw reference)

But that's a lot of work to prepare this kind of event, and I don't know if it is possible to have more than 50/100 persons inside the same space with the current technology.

You underestimate human greed.

My best guess is the second someone else takes what chainlink started 4+ years ago (and still hasn't managed to make a useable product) those bags will make the most glorious dump on the market.

Why wouldnt they? What would they care if they cashed out and went off to their own private island? All the conferences they travel to, they could be scoping out places to hide once they exit scam.

I mean, when does anything really good happen to /biz/?

wrong. the value of chainlink is completely removed from both bitcoin and USD, but if you're referring to all time high of course it makes more sense to frame it in the context of USD, as thats the money that adults use.

if you like talking about chainlink relation to bitcoin so much go build a fence 'bit' by 'bit', as for me i'll keep discussing chainlinks true valuation... "USD"

lots of data originates from the physical world, not human interactions on digital platforms, that data needs oracles, those oracles need incentives, also you're assuming there will literally be only one blockchain, which seems unlikely, basically these >>17499259
