For the past couple months we all saw peak optimism, uber drivers and ethots asking about stocks etc. I feel like we are close to peak fear already, maybe 5-6% left to drop. The retarded gains since Sept have been wiped out, the rest should be purely virus based. Thats where I get skeptical, this is a big happening, but "this is the end, financial system btfo" talk is already starting, and rarely has that ever happened. Obviously I'll be wrong if people really start dying outside of shitholes. What am I missing or am I numb to this particular happening.

Sorry, I was trying to be brief after my last lengthy post.

I sold my index funds at 1pm GMT on Monday, I was sitting on around 20% profit, which came to a little over £2500. Vanguard say "We'll sell at the next valuation point", which I assume would be close of market on the 24th? However, they appear to have done nothing until the 26th or the 27th, which is my new valuation, and I've now dropped to just under £1600 gained and 12.95% rate of return.

The estimated value on my order was £17,312.37 and I've now got cash of £16,342.47? I've lost 1k because they put the order through later.

I'm aware that they'll have dropped from when I sold because the market dropped on the 24th, but they appear to be valuating from the 26th or even the 27th.

Right now I'm about 15% of my stack invested in SOXL, TECL, FNGU, and /ES futures so I still have about 85% left still waiting for this big drop everybody keeps promising me. We get down to 20-25% from the peak, I'll go in 40% then spend the rest when things get juicy and SOXL is sitting in double digits. I keep telling people. BUY BATS. Bats were falsely blamed. It was from chinks eating armadillos. South America is about to genocide its bats as they have ones that spreads aids. They will be in the market for replacement bats when malaria hits all time highs as a result. Buy bats and mosquito repellent and malaria meds. Short Armadillo based markets like the upcoming Dreamworks road to Eldorado remaster... Non profitable electric windmills are also killing bats in sweden and will be soon abandoned. Sweden will need to import bats by the million.

Literally buy 1000 bats for the price of 10. Buy a 120 dollar abandoned house in Detroit near a swamp to stockpile your bats. Its not expensive to buy bat urine and bat nesting material. You have exactly one year to become one of the world leading bat exporters. In 2024 we will be trading almost exclusively by using live bats as currency.

No fren
SSO (DBPG for euroanons) is a 2x leveraged ETF based on the S&P 500 and it is one of the few leveraged ETFs that existed before the Great Financial Crisis of 2008. Had you bought SSO (DBPG) at the literal top of the market before the recession in October 2007, as of this moment you would have gains of 176%. Had you bought the underlying SPY on the same day you would have gains of 98%. So had you bought the leveraged ETF, even at the worst possible time, you still would have ended up with almost double the gains today.
Remember this the next time somebody throws shade on leveraged ETFs because of volatility decay. Buy the index based leveraged ETFs and win. Simple as that. And start buying now. Coronavirus could be as bad as the GFC and if you start buying in now with a little money and buy in more later as the prices drop you will still come out much better in the long run than doing nothing at all. I'm buying and I'll be here when this thing is over to brag about my gains. Do not be afraid. We will get through this and this is your opportunity. Join me and get rich.

The downturn is about the disruption of the supply chain; the over-extended debt of most corporations, the over-reliance on just-in-time manufacturing, and the nearly entire closing of the chinese container ports.

theyre going to be hunkering down for a long dark winter (spring-summer whatever)

this thing has shown no signs of slowing in Singapore despite the heat
and another unknown, some viruses get worse in heat especially if there’s humidity (worse meaning more communicable)

the one and only bullish indicator I have is that retail traders did an insane amount of selling at the beginning of all this. i posted a link to the cnbc article many threads back

They don't expressly ban day trading and they can get you on anything if they want to because their rules regarding TSFAs are subjective garbage. As long as your account is fairly low in value, say sub 100k, I think you would be able to get away with off loading your positions.

By the way day trading is technically buying and selling within the same day, not buying one day and selling the next.

Uhh, I think the current inflated death rates have a lot to do with shitty chink health care, but I'll accept your point that the death rate is higher. The spanish flu's death rate, at the end of the day, will probably be much higher than corona's and the spanish flu killed off the young and virulent and productive, while corona is killing old people, and those with defective immune systems. Now reckon this with the fact that the market DID NOTHING in the face of a massive global pandemic.

For example, I'm tempted to buy a bunch of SQQQ. Assuming it actually does go up, when I think it's run its course and the market is going to stabilize I'd try to sell, but wouldn't other people also see the same signs and therefore not want to buy my shares leaving me with stocks which will ultimately drop me right back to where I started or even worse?
