this isnt financial advice, but here's my theory of a timeline for coronaviruses impact on crypto.

Current crypto holders may panic sell initially dropping the price... however, after that panic sell and initial drop new investors will fill the vacuum of cheap crypto causing the price to recover. And then the normies will panic buy as a hedge against the coronadepression causing a second bull run to 20k and beyond as crypto will form the backbone for interactionless transactions that are necessary for a post corona apocolypse. (physical gold payment would require risking infection in the coronawastes)

>> No.17436903

This is actually what i was thinking too. Coronavirus will cause borders to close which will require a borderless currency.

But in the past volatile stock markets have always had a multiplied effect on crypto

I've been thinking along the same lines. Just liquidated most of my stocks. Waiting for the right time to re-enter the stock market or to get back in crypto. I could foresee people getting freaked out and dumping money into crypto as a hedge since even stuff like precious metals is falling

When national currencies start to depreciate because the economy grinds to a standstill, people will invest in crypto.

Also...as much as I don't want this to happen, a Bernie presidency would be incredible for cryptocurrencies. Imagine Bernie gets elected, announces sweeping economic proposals. Dems in Congress led by AOC and the squad pass all of Bernie's plans.

Dow dips 10,000 in a week. Global economy in freefall due to Bernie. He sits back and laughs as capitalists lose money. So what will they do? They will dump their funds into crypto. Why? Because Bernie wants to tax billionaires at exorbitant rates. You can't tax what isn't there. If Bernie gets the DNC nomination and does well in the polls, get ready for crypto to steadily rise again. If he gets elected, it's going to skyrocket faster than it did after Trump got elected, but for completely different reasons.

my post is pure speculation, curious as to what others think of this scenario

corona is going to be bad initially for crypto due to the panic selling that would come from any emergency, however for the long term its great for crypto as it adds real utility to it.

during a period of depression or financial instability, its vital that you have a secure means of storing, withdrawing, and using the currency you own... and when you throw a highly infectious virus into the mix you also need a way to spend money in a way that is interactionless.

this is the catalyst for the next bullrun i have no doubt, but again this is not financial advise.

Trying is all they have been doing. No proof they solved the oracle problem. NuLink and these new forks are some 18 year olds in high school who created fake tokens. They said they solved the problem. How? Show proof.

Decentralized p2p money you can send around the world without a middleman. You can still do business in real time with other countries that way. The oracle system I am thinking of gets all kinds of data like current news about how many people are infected with corona and transmits that data in real time, incredibly fast. That would legitimize real news and help get rid of fake news.

BTW, a bearish bat pattern formed. Sell now and buy back when it bottoms out.

>> No.17437560

A reputation + a voting protocol rolled into a staking system where nodes vote either yes or no on whether or not information is telling the truth or is not. Say you want news about the coronavirus in Wuhan. Nodes located in Wuhan that only go by location and no other personal information is given, vote yes on (x) amount of people have the virus. Nodes in the same location are connected and they too, vote (x) amount of people they have been told have it. The nodes with the most similar amounts reported are in this case, chosen as the most accurate data to accept and send in a smart contract that is tamper proof and trusted.

What Chainlink is trying to do makes a lot of sense to create. It would create a more factual and truth gathering identification system where what's really happening is reported with accuracy and what are lies, are detected and thrown out as fake news.

The 650,000,000 LINK's are for enterprise investors. That chart you posted is the same for all the tokens that had an ICO. How can you trust them not to sell if the price pumps? What are they selling the tokens for? What this whole thing in crypto where normies fund the projects is you're basically paying these rando's to create some kind of blockchain product. Too much money is given to them without anything in return. The price pumps because that's speculation. That's why I don't buy any tokens. You're only making Sergey richer and they are not delivering a product.
