They're going to have to downgrade like that in lot of things, and that will be a hard pill to swallow for many, especially if their lives revolve around social media and projecting an image of living better than everyone else. And the money will not last, they will have to re-enter the workforce, with a huge gap on their resume and no applicable skills. And this is all with a very generous estimate, assuming A+ spending/saving habits, based on a highly unrealistic 600k/yr salary.
