Instagram is Snapchat’s biggest competitor.

Instagram as a stand-alone from Facebook is worth about $100 B

Snapchat’s current market cap is about $24.94B trading at $17.56

Even if they match half of Instagram’s estimated value, that would mean Snap’s stock price would double.

Now if they match that $100B estimate, that would be a 300% gain in share price.

Snap also has the benefit of being a communication platform which people interact with constantly rather than Instagram which is a picture sharing app that people don’t post on everyday.

I don't see why you cant apply both theories. If I catch a knife on something I know is volatile I can always then apply "time in is better" and wait for it to rebound. I'm pretty sure there are banks/credit cards that offer services like rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar and putting that money into a savings account, which is pretty similar to what you want to do.

You can just link your bank account to the app and start transferring money into robinhood, then from robinhood you can directly buy most things on the market.

honestly if you are just trying to better yourself or be more productive you are okay to just put your money into passive index funds. Basically they take your money and invest it into a bunch of different stocks. But if your goal is to get into finance/investing, etc. then it might be better to just pick some stocks that you like for whatever reason (think apple, coca cola, chevron, whatever you are drawn to). The fastest way to learn is to put your money on the line

Ahhh ok I see now. Starting to make sense why they require a margin then. I’ve self learned a lot about investing and trading, even though I’ve been doing well at both compounding gains, I still have a lot to learn. there is no need for you rush into trading futures even if you eventually meet the minimum balance, when there is so much other opportunity out there. There are multi-million/billion dollar hedge funds that just trade long call options. Tons of individual investors that easily clear the minimum balance but don't trade futures not to mention career portfolio managers that do not touch them. Try not to look at it as "the next logical step" in learning how invest your money.

Good point, I appreciate you taking the time to give me your view on it. I just liked some of the benefits I have heard comes with futures, like tax advantages and able to trade more with it being open longer. Just to clarify, as the guy doesn't say this explicitly, the optionsellers guy was selling naked calls. He didn't have the shares to begin with. That's why when the calls he sold were exercised he was on the hook to fulfill at the strike price. Which then liquidated him. Very stupid move and I'm sure he knew it but yoloed anyway.

Thank you, I like this strategy. Collect long term growth plus dividends if available. I’ll have to decide which route to go growth, dividend or in-between lower dividends but the company still has growth. Then, on top of this I’d compound gains from premiums off the ATM call, if the stock crabbed or went down. I’d just have to sell my 100 shares if the call was exercised. Would I just search the market for a good dip on another company within SP500, has tight spreads for its options and repeat then?
