Snapchat deletes the messages after viewing, after 24 hours or never, also the memories feature is pretty cool. One of the main appeals to apps like snapchat and facebook messenger is that it is uniform when texting, if you have a different brand of phone than the recipient or vice versa things can get funky and some of the functions are lost. That being said I don't trust SNAP with my money, I don't think they will ever make a profit unless the do some really innovative shit, people are getting over filters already

but people don't look at advertisements on snap, they are only on stories and you can literally skip past them, no one actually uses the ads on filters so that's irrelevant as well. Also, just because people are using snap doesn't mean they don't have Facebook accounts, drastically different social media platforms.
>>17281724
>As soon as Snap turns a profit
it won't, more ad revenue will not be enough to gap the bridge between spending and revenue, especially because their ads are not effective

>They have the 12-24 demographic locked up. That's pretty incredible.
yeah so did vine, the play here is to see what replaces snap and invest in that early, then sell before that gets replaced

>> No.17281798

Instagram is Snapchat’s biggest competitor.

Instagram as a stand-alone from Facebook is worth about $100 B

Snapchat’s current market cap is about $24.94B trading at $17.56

Even if they match half of Instagram’s estimated value, that would mean Snap’s stock price would double.

Now if they match that $100B estimate, that would be a 300% gain in share price.

Snap also has the benefit of being a communication platform which people interact with constantly rather than Instagram which is a picture sharing app that people don’t post on everyday.

Just something to chew on.

Just so you know, you should randomize your numbers if you're going to create a forgery. $184418531.35 has too many common digits, that pattern is exactly what you get when you tell people to invent a 'random' number because they don't move their hands enough when typing so you'll see the same digit over again. In this case, you have a 11 digit number made up of the same 5 digits.

You need to realize that the market doesn't care what you want. It doesn't care about your dreams or retirement. Those have no effect on the price of anything. You can spend all day talking about what it should do it and much it would make your life better but it's all wasted and you're just hurting yourself by adding more emotion into the mix when you should be as objective as possible.

For example, if you did spend more time learning about ONTX, you may have realized that it was a pump and dump scheme and that nearly everyone here is out of it at this point.

if you want to get really friendly you probably want to go to a karaoke place and hire a private room with a staff member to sing with you. im sure it exists somewhere.

japan's legal system is very fucked up though so don't get caught. they never prosecute unless they are 100% sure they will win the case, which means the judges always treat every single case like the person presented is guilty. cops will convince you to report your wallet as lost instead of stolen to keep their statistics looking good and their shame of not being able to catch a criminal to a minimum. it's a real thing.

how would you know? the statistics are a lie because of the reasons i've described and even if you've been there as a tourist yourself you don't watch every street all the time. nobody reports things both because it's pointless and because of their own shame. japan's rape statistics are pretty low but at the same time they have warning signs about molestation on trains. you think that conundrum doesn't carry over to other crimes?

i want to link a youtube video that i remember that talk about the fucked up legal state in japan but i dont have it. instead ill just drop this random negative video in hopes of it popping up for you in the recommendations to the right on youtube. i'm about to head out, otherwise i would search around for the correct video.

Hello friends. I'm a total loser and have no experience with anything to do with investing so this question might seem super basic and retarded, but I want to start changing my bad habits and instead convert them into something useful, meaning that whenever I'd want to buy shit like alcohol or junk food I'd invest that money instead. My question is that is it possible (or at least not needlessly complicated) to invest like, a few dozen bucks at a time, every time I have a case of wanting to buy something stupid and instead manage to prevent myself from doing so, and just like that slowly increase the amount of money I have in stocks or whatever?

Yeah but it doesn't matter... okay listen, when people worry about statistics in a country they are about to travel to they're referring to robberies, rape, killings, kidnappings, etc etc. The worry is not the legal system or how the work environment is for foreign workers, that's irrelevant for you as a tourist as long as you don't commit a crime or plan on working there, which you obviously don't do. I don't think I have ever heard of someone travelling to Japan, worrying about their legal system.
Have you ever went on vacation anywhere other than your own country? Genuine question. Because I have a feeling you never left your country and is stuck watching videos that scares you, kek'd.

I have no idea honestly, I do not use it I only know it exists because a couple years ago I thought of making an app like that and googled to see if it already exists. No idea about their fees or anything.

there was another anon that replied saying something about banks offering a similar service. If that's true and there's no fees then that's probably a good option. I'm pretty sure there are banks/credit cards that offer services like rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar and putting that money into a savings account, which is pretty similar to what you want to do.

the easiest way would be just to open a brokerage or robinhood account and every time you want to buy booze, smokes etc. just put the money into a box and every week deposit that money. I understand that if you really are as big of a POS as you claim how that could be difficult in practice though.

Honestly, I was mostly exaggerating. I'm not an alcoholic NEET or anything like that, but I do drink and eat junk food more than I'd want to and I have honestly been thinking about putting that money into better use. I just have no idea about anything related to investing so I need to start with the basics. I don't know whether you can buy "partial" stocks or whatever that would be called or if you need to always buy them fully (like, can you buy something with only 20 bucks if the price is at 40 and get only "half a share", or if you're required to spend n x 40 no matter what). I mainly trade on my brokerage but I have a little bit of money in robinhood and they recently started offering fractional shares so that is definitely something you can do. Again it is not something I use personally like with acorn so check if there are fees or any BS, but honestly robinhood is pretty reputable so it should be okay. You can just link your bank account to the app and start transferring money into robinhood, then from robinhood you can directly buy most things on the market.

honestly if you are just trying to better yourself or be more productive you are okay to just put your money into passive index funds. Basically they take your money and invest it into a bunch of different stocks. But if your goal is to get into finance/investing, etc. then it might be better to just pick some stocks that you like for whatever reason (think apple, coca cola, chevron, whatever you are drawn to). Good point, I appreciate you taking the time to give me your view on it. I just liked some of the benefits I have heard comes with futures, like tax advantages and able to trade more with it being open longer. That is why my thought process was futures was “the next logical step” but you are right there is a huge amount of opportunities already in front of me and easily accessible. I should keep learning about the markets I’m avidly involved in for many years to come because I know I’ve only just begun to tap into the market and knowing how to trade/invest.

Just to clarify, as the guy doesn't say this explicitly, the optionsellers guy was selling naked calls. He didn't have the shares to begin with. That's why when the calls he sold were exercised he was on the hook to fulfill at the strike price. Which then liquidated him. Very stupid move and I'm sure he knew it but yoloed anyway.

buy 100 shares of companies and sell one ATM call as long as it's in the SandP500 and has a tight spread for its options. you get long term gains on your holdings while protecting your downside by lowering your cost basis.

but that's if you have an account size 100k and above.

Thank you, I like this strategy. Collect long term growth plus dividends if available. I’ll have to decide which route to go growth, dividend or in-between lower dividends but the company still has growth. Then, on top of this I’d compound gains from premiums off the ATM call, if the stock crabbed or went down. I’d just have to sell my 100 shares if the call was exercised. Would I just search the market for a good dip on another company within SP500, has tight spreads for its options and repeat then?

Hey man! That's what I'm doing! instead of spending 5 bucks on booze every day and 40 bucks on weed I'm investing it all. You just have to remember not to let any addictive tendencies to dictate your behavior. Totally doable and good luck!

Why aren't you encouraging him to grow his skills by managing his money by himself? Even if he loses everything he invests fort this first year he will still gain valuable life skills. Unless someone has a sub 80 IQ they should manage their own money instead of letting someone else profit off of it.
