Could an AI be infinitely profitable in a financial market?

>> No.17273258

Humans are smarter than AI
Are you infinitely profitable?

>> No.17273635

no, there's a thread on machine learning to predict price movement yesterday. We simply cant build an AI or machine learning or reinforcement learning to beat the market, because we just dont have enough data and market has a lot of white noise.

No, financial markets are chaotic systems.

To make an AI that successfully predicts the market it would have to know everything about anything in real time.

Small little things could effect the market in big ways.

"AI" like we have today? machine learning with sprinkles? Nah. It can help real traders or be part of other systems but alone it'll get rekt.
real artificial general intelligence AGI? Maybe, depends on how intelligent it is.

People love to think that if we develop an AGI then it's all over, it's gonna take over everything and humanity will be finished. But an AGI won't be able to "harness" the power of a traditional CPU any better than humanity, and its quantum vessel will be very limited.

yes, but even with the patterns found, it still cannot predict correctly, even to "almost surerity" threshold.

read "law of large numbers" and "gamblers fallacy".

The market makers are AI. They are bit meant to profit, but to create liquidity.

You definitely can't predict what would happen in the market with 100% probability, but you can easily shift win to lose ratio in your favor with using even the simplest algorithms.
