>Investigating stolen funds on Mainnet
>Currently the Coordinator is halted until further notice to investigate reported issues with stolen funds. We ask you to keep the Trinity wallet closed for now until further notice.

>February 14th 2020 - 09:50

>We have found the exploit and are now working on resolving the issue. As expected, the exploit is related to the (user-facing) Trinity Wallet. The IOTA core protocol is - as already communicated before - not breached.

>We know that you would like to understand more details, but ask you to refrain from questions towards the Community Moderators due to the parallel ongoing coaction with law enforcement. The teams are currently developing the mitigation strategy. We will share all details about the exploit in due time and (of course) publish a complete incident analysis as well.

THERE CAN ONLY BE NANO

Traders tend to keep their funds on exchanges; hodlers tend to keep their funds in wallets. If there was going to be a significant market reaction, we would have seen it. The good news far outweighs the bad here. Coordinated attacks have been made in the past against most other crypto. IF is handling this as transparently and professionally as anyone could hope.

hodlers generally dont like to hodl when their centralized coin gets both hacked and disabled by the devs. I don't really hate IOTA that much, I think it may have potential, but until they go through puberty and become fully decentralized they are just another project that is yet to live up to its expectations. After NANO moons again, if IOTA is still on the cheap, and they actually can reach decentral status, I will throw in a few chips. Same with FTM. But both of these projects have some things to prove first.

The thing about nano is that it's rendered completely redundant by IOTA. IOTA is superior in every way. You can't do no-value data transactions with nano and there are no smart contracts in the roadmap. Furthermore, IOTA post-coordicide will be the world's first truly decentralized coin, while Nano relies mainly on a dpos like centralized bunch of servers with voting power proportionate to the number of nano held effectively creating a plutocracy with 80% of voting power held by devs. Then there's partnerships... I could go on and on but suffice to say that NANO falls short on every conceivable metric. IOTA is the superior coin.

IOTA is centralized, bloated, requires a coordinator, is backdoored by the devs (just in case), and the whole network has just been frozen.

Decentralized my ass. NANO works NOW.

>> No.17247178

>>17246755
80% of voting power by devs? Nano devs only kept 5% of the supply. They currently only have maybe 2% or less. You got some of your other info correct, such as NANO being purely for value transfers. This allows it to infinitely scale pretty much. Smart contracts can be executed via central services or in tandem with decentralized ones. The best tools are those that are specific for certain tasks.

One last question for you. I can send any amount of Nano, from fractions of a penny, to hundreds of thousands of dollars, with less than a second for full confirmation, without a single fraction of a penny as a fee for either.

Can you do that with IOTA right now? Why not?
