>Bitcoin will always be #1 because it was 1st
Isn't this the same kind of mentality that has led to the fucking archaic retarded bank finance systems, like SWIFT, in place today?

Why is SWIFT retarded?

It was not the first there were a few shitcoins before it

>> No.17219233

SWIFT is amazing and is the one good thing about the banking system today you fucking retard

>> No.17219240

Bitcoin will remain #1 because it has the most hashing power & is therefore more secure than other PoW blockchains.

>Bitcoin has value because it is a good store of value
>Halving will change literally everything. Guaranteed pump
>The less inflation the better. NANO with 0% inflation the worst shitcoin btw.
>Lightning Network will solve Bitcoins scaling problems, once it comes out in 18 months... *52 months later* Nobody said Lightning is going to help Bitcoin scale, it is good for only edgecases. The real LN is still going to come out in 18 months.
>All altcoins are scams. I like Litecoin, Monero and Mimblewimble coins though.
oh nononono

Having #1 hashrate now does not equal to having #1 hashrate in the future. Miners have the ability to switch between coins within seconds.

yes lets switch our sha256 asics to ethereum or decred brilliant.

Absolute retard. Ethereum has a compleyely different algo. You'd have to switch to something similar to BTC.
Halving will bankrupt all the mid-sized miners of yours and halve the hashrate.

And this

This thread is truly full of brainlets
Also Bitcoin has not only the obvious upsides of being the most well known, the first, the longest lasting, the greatest story behind it (because those are all marketing points) but on top of that it rose and scaled to a level of liquidity and security that any other challenging coin would also have to navigate to WHILE being attacked from all sides by sophisticated attackers that now know how profitable a cryptocurrency can be

The argument of saying we could/would/should all switch to some other coin because it's better is like saying we should all decide to vote for a third party in most of our two party stricken western democracies because many people don't like either party
i.e. this argument ignores the game theory of the situation

Bitcoin isn’t competing with SWIFT!!!! It’s competing with fiat currencies
