Being an independent contractor is tedious as all hell(at first)
Working for logistics companies is hell

I’m a truck driver who previously worked in a social work field. It’s great for dealing with burnout, but you won’t make great money on a local run ($40k is not good money for a trucker.) Everyone wants to be home daily. As a result, they don’t have to pay as much. The real money is in OTR—but that means spending weeks at a time away from home.
